I think my first officially dropped show was Infinite Stratos. Dropped it after the first episode due to its generic shittyness. However, a few months later I finished it anyway.

It has some artificial feel of the dialogue. It kinda shines through that it's from a VN, the way the characters and the character interactions work.
If you only watch anime for entertainment, I could see Utawarerumono being dropworthy if you've watched less than 500 anime, and depending on genre and what you like, perhaps permanently.

The anime fucks up the pacing a bit, misses a lot of funny moments, and replaces some of the best.I actually started thinking the anime was fucking shit when it skipped the scene with Touka accidentally cutting the bridge, even if later on picked up a bit.
The Utawarerumono anime is more like a treat for after you've finished the game so you can see some of the scenes animated and get pissed that they skipped so much good stuff.
The Itsuwari no Kamen anime is just shit though.

Well, it had the same feel as a Suikoden game. Which is an RPG and not a VN. But the fact that it was a video game converted to anime is one of the reason I feel its good. Probably the best video game to anime adaptation I've seen. Most of them are complete shit on the level of Star Ocean EX or Final Fantasy Unlimited. The only thing that kept this one down was the super low budget of its animation. It even improved the story of the original game.
Of course, the story and characters themselves might not be to your liking, which I can understand. But then that isn't just limited to anime based on video games.

There is a special kind of feel that I've only experienced in VN (and apparently video game) adaptations, with how the characters are written. The MCs are always shit, in an assholish way. The girls are always too focused on the MC, in a non-haremish way. It just feels so artificial and forced. The only VN adaptation that felt right was Stein's Gate, everything else I've seen (really not that much) feels wrong, with a really hateable MC. (Perhaps School Days worked in this aspect too, but only by being intentionally shit)
- Stein's Gate: good
- Utawarerumono: pretty good, but characters are off (but this was a video game?)
- School Days: outraging, but at least the VNishness doesn't stick out
- Air: bad
- Kanon (not finished): one of the worst MCs I've ever seen in anime. terrible

Bedides Stein's Gate, every VN adaptation I've seen has been bad, with some of the worst MCs in all of anime. The typical VN MC may be worse than the beta harem protagonist, they are just so bad and unlikeable.

Well I don't exactly know how you can say Hakuoro was bad since he doesn't fall into the 'asshole MC' type you just cited. He's actually the exact opposite. Now way at the end of the series, you can say his Gozilla level plot tie in is really cheesy. But not really his personality.
And one of the good things the anime did is made it so all the girls don't just want his dick. Eruru obviously does, which makes her seem like a pretty one-dimensional character (exactly like Lyon in Suikoden V). But every other character isn't trying to get into his bed, unlike in the original game.
Most of your other examples I completely agree with. But Utawarerumono really stood out to me as the anime version went against typical VN stereotypes. Even stereotypes the game had.

With Utawarerumono it at least made some sort of sense. Hakuoro had either saved their village, their lives, or helped them accomplish something they've always wanted to.
Whereas Steins;Gate there's absolutely no reason for any girl other than Mayuri and Suzuha to even be involved with Okarin.

I've tried watching five different Gundam shows and couldn't finish any of them. And its not becausde they're mecha, moreso that they take what could be done in 1 episode and stall it out to be 12 episodes. The only Gundam thing I have ever been able to finish is the 3 part movie version of the original Gundam. Because they purposefully cut out 90% of the show, which was filler. And even then, there's tons of pointless shit in just those three movies.
Tomino just can't develop characters at all. And thinks superfluous dialogue and death scenes is character development. He's the George Martin of anime.

Also everyone alive does feel attraction to him, not because they were engineered from his own genes, but because they were engineered as servants for humanity. It's why Hakuoro has people listen to him before he's even proved anything, and also why he, Haku and Haku's brother always manage to pull people to their side with little effort.

When Ash was in the League and faced Tobias, a guy with 6 fucking legendaries. We've seen these legendaries in movies and Ash helped each of them, then suddenly they fucking beat the shit out of his pokemon with no explanation as to how he caught them with REGULAR FUCKING POKEBALLS.
Not only that, before that Ash was teaching Paul that any pokemon can be strong if you train with it hard enough, then his entire team of his 6 strongest pokemon gets destroyed by 2 legendaries.
Cynthia, whos an expert on legendaries and in charge of the League, watched the entire thing and decided to let a guy with 6 legendaries participate in the league against normal pokemon.
It was absolutely retarded and the only reason it happened was so that they had a reason as to why Ash lost this time and it wasnt even his fault. All that character development for Paul went nowhere and Infernape who was built up this entire show was jobbed when it came time to prove to Paul that hes wrong.
Also people said Black and White was absolute shit so yeah.
