We still don't know how it truly works as she has failed at certain tasks that she should have been able to do. Time-space powers aren't an ability unique to her.

Of course, it's long established, and much derided, that her powers are wholely based upon her own belief in them. It would only be dependence if Ichigo couldn't take a single step without her. Her being able to pick him up when things get really rough is just the special chemistry they always had. This is like saying that Orihime's relationship with Ichigo is one entirely of dependence because she always needed Ichigo to save her in the end, even after she resolved to be able to take care of herself.
The relationships between Ichigo and his Nakama fulfill equivalent exchange. he is the most powerful of the group but sometimes he's vulnerable to pessimistic thinking. He has gotten better at this, but part of it will always remain.
