Honestly, I don't really see a bloodbath. I was more just looking for an excuse to vent about how frustrating every recent series I've seen with Okouchi as the head writer has been. They all get to a point where it's no longer fun, and you're barely able to keep watching; you're dragged along by cliffhangers and the false hope that things might get better. Going by the ending of VVV and GC, they won't. Which is a pity, because I really like Ikoma's VA, and he's been a pretty solid lead character up until Biba's appearance. I'm STILL hoping that things will turn around and the next 2 episodes will give things a satisfying conclusion, but I'm pretty sure at this point that that's pretty unlikely.

True, but it's done in a very jarring way. Gundam 00 had major tech boosts in a few points, and it more or less still felt like the same series. In VVV the tech boost happens at the same time the characters basically lose any ability to have their desicions affect the plot, and spend the rest of the series being dragged from plot point to plot point, and each plot point makes them more and more miserable.
