Probably because at the time, Dii and the god that later awakened in him were friends with Genjimaru and were genuinely trying to make things better for their Empire.
Remember that Hakuoro was also looked upon as an evil being/rival to them, and it was only the Empress who was trying to avoid another war since it would result in massive casualties. And they themselves began their war because they were once an oppressed minority until they gained the power of the Avu Kamu.
Frankly, while Dii probably never got himself a harem like Hakuoro, more focused on his experiments and attempts to subtly subjugate the masses as the "darker half", he would have at least tried to befriend one or two individuals to understand the era he had awakened into once more. Could possibly have been remnants of Dii's friendship before he awakened as well. We don't know.
Regardless, I find it interesting that Karula supposedly gained her own inhuman strength from a contract with the darker half of the old god, but she herself was spared a gruesome fate. Maybe swearing loyalty/giving herself to Hakuoro allowed the contract to transfer or something?

Also, Karura's strength is inherited, and her father most likely died when her home was invaded and she was taken prisoner, so maybe the "payment" was already done with his death, so she was free to make new contracts with Hakuoro. Kinda like Genjimaru dying served to free Kuya.
How many people do you think knew about Hakuoro's past before he remembered it? I know Tuskur knew because she met Hakuoro before. Genjimaru most likely knew. And Urtoriy and Karura probably did as well from their parents telling them (as well as Karura knowing a contract with Hakuoro was a much bigger deal than even he thought), maybe even Benawi depending on how old he actually was.

Eruru only met the god half, and made a deal with him for Aruru's survival. However, depending on reincarnation/fate, she may have been drawn to him despite him being a complete unknown to her.

It only finally ended when Hakuoro gained enough strength to finally reunite the two halves and go into slumber to let them fuse back together.

I read somewhere that Dii wasn't a reincarnation like Eruru and Kamyu are, but rather he really was just a winged dude that tutored Urtoriy and Kamyu when they were younger and then fucked off to do some research on stuff, but the evil half of the god is a wandering spirit because Hakuoro kept the body, so it possessed him, which is also what explains Genjimaru not immediately recognizing him by looks.
Also Eruru was attracted to Hakuoro on three accounts: she was Mikoto's reincarnation, so her subconscious already told her he was someone she loved; she made a contract with him that binded her completely to his will, even if he didn't know and wouldn't have used it anyway; and everyone in universe, of all races, are naturally attracted to pure humans because they were engineered to serve them, and probably goes double for Hakuoro since they were made from his own genes. It's also why the villagers trusted Hakuoro so easily before he even proved he was a competent leader.

They had good visuals, music, and story to work with. Somehow, through sheer awfulness of the direction, they managed to make something substantially worse than the sum of its parts. The pacing was terrible, the sound direction was full of QUALITY, and the director butchered the story by skipping a huge amount of the best content.
Oftentimes adaptations are bad because of budget issues and a lack of skilled animators. This was not one of those times. Even a mediocre director would not have been able to mess up so badly.

Reptiles maybe. I mean, most of the animalistic races were created with the ability to adapt to their corrupted world.

Remember Hakuro's final words to Mutsumi, as Kamyu seemed to be somewhat moved by them. She is still part of Kamyu, but they're not entirely different. As Hakuro said he'd never again forget his troublesome daughter, and Kamyu answered a bit as though she was Mutsumi in part.

Full version of him isn't really bad, he just can't forgive and is full of rage for his waifu. When he was first taken out of the ice he was his full version. He kind of got over it when his friends beat the shit out of him it seemed. It helped him get over it a bit, so he could finally go back to sleep.

He hadn't really trained much in his life before. Benawi comments he's getting stronger every day, and can finally push Benawi pretty decently during battle. When he first fights Kagura, they're amazed by her since she's able to fight evenly with Oboro with neither side getting any advantage over the other.
Both of them got hot-headed since they were fire spirits, completely lost their cool, and almost burned the building down.
However Eruru coming in the room broke up their fight.

Oboro hadn't had strong opponents until Hakuoro began pulling them all towards his banner, and he realized just how weak he was. Granted, by the end of the series, he had become strong enough to hold his own against Benawi and Karula, and set off to become even stronger.

They are made from his power, don't underestimate them. Each of them has a fraction of his power for real, he may have a hard time canceling them out since they're equal to miniature versions of himself. Its the classic man vs nature story, if man has the plot on his side and "I believe in my friends", then he won't lose.
Considering Hakuro killed all the humans, humanity has reason to be able to say "My friends!" against him. Even Hakuro doesn't disagree with this because he wanted to kill himself for his misdeeds in that moment.

Ironically, that draws parallels to Hakuoro vs Kuya, where Kuya's empire harnessed a fragment of the god's power in the Avu Kamuus to try and expand their empire. And it ultimately took Hakuoro in his god form to finally beat them all down.
Same thing is happening here; Haku and the remaining godzilla mask users using their power to try and expand their own empire, and the only one standing in his way is currently the daughter of a god. Invariably, it's likely the god himself will come out and reclaim that power as well less it bring about another tragedy for Haku's empire the way similar power befell Kuya's empire.

They didn't really have god powers in the Avu's. They thought it was god-machines, but they were really just super old future tech machines, that were already weaker than Hakuro in the past if he felt like fighting. For the people of the medieval future, they felt like god's tools, but they were just robots that allowed people to go on the surface.
The forgotten masks are literally the forgotten god's power, as literally as you can get. While the old machines were just machines, no matter how advanced they were. Also we saw the fruits of the one scientists that created the machines, but the fruits of the scientist that created the mask is in another league perhaps. Since he did create two impossible things.
No this isn't just a repeat of Kuuya. The stakes are set so that both sides of the war are roughly equal in many ways, so if one person could organize either one of them properly it could lead to a tipping point.

He remembered his brother's will, his brother said the hope for humanity is over in that country, in the game Haku doesn't know that's Kuon's country. The country is in civil war, saying "This is the late emperor's final will" will unite them, with a common cause. Haku wants to save his old family, by finally giving them death, that can be found in Tuskur.
He has a dozen reasons why he'll probably have to invade Tuskur, just like Hakuro has had to do in the past. Anyone who doesn't think the third game is headed for that type of forced drama as two friends end up fighting, but she doesn't know its him, and he can't tell her, just doesn't realize it yet.

I think he's going to have to fight all the old legends one at a time, figure out the best way to counter or beat them using strategy, before sparing them, and sometimes he'll have to rely on the mask.
However the end of the game always requires a "To go even further beyond" kind of moment, where the power you've had all along has to be taken in a new way. Could be the last fight, the second to last fight, or the third to last one, but he's gotta figure out something with the mask to give him an edge against something that will be bigger than he can handle normally. Its either that, or Kuon has already joined up with him and they can do the Tenkyouhon.
I see the game as a mix between Hakuro taking on the bunny empire, and Hakuro taking on the original capital to establish Tuskur empire. Those two fights in particular have a lot of common ground here.

Such as; the penultimate fight was vs Kuon in her godzilla form, but stopping when realizing who the godzilla is and reasoning it out, then Hakuoro himself appears in god form and it's one where the best option is to not attack at all, rather than go into a god vs god-like being repeat of White God vs Black God.
At least, for those wanting a true ending, rather than some open ending where fighting it out was also a philosphical debate similar to Hakuoro vs Dii but leaves things open to some extent.

Its almost died a few times easily; it just needs someone to form a contract with it to live again, but without a contract it dies agian. It needs people in order to live, it needs to feed on the desires and willful contracts of people in order to keep going. It waits until someone is weak, and tries to force a contract on them, so that it can survive.
It was going to die in the woods after Mutsumi found it, until he happened to end up finding Eruru who's sister had just died, because of the aforementioned fight. So it survived by bringing back Aruru to life, and forcing a contract.
