Why is Evangelion so overrated?
People claim it's the best anime ever made. I think it's the most overrated series that ever existed.
People claim it created the most memorables moments of the whole industry, and everything I see from it are some fan service scenes or crappy mecha battles.
We all know people still talk about it nowadays thanks to its final... If it had a normal final, it wouldn't have been such a famous anime.
The characters' personality are quite simple, the protagonist is the most cry baby that ever existed, and the only reason why teenagers can pilot those alien mechas is because japanese autistics likes young waifus. That medium shit is just a vague excuse.

My favorite eps are the ones before 2 part finale, they have a real sense of dread and loneliness to them that i think no other anime has ever captured.
The direction and art direction are god-tier
