It's not exactly a throwaway email in my case,I'm just too embarrassed with my real one to use it. Sure, we can wait, I'm not hurrying anyways. I've mentioned on the website as well, I can't do any serious work until the end of summer since I lack the free time. Right now we're just discussing general issues and figuring out the plot. It's a complex project so I'd like to take all the time that's necessary for a quality result.
Don't forget that besides the VN, we have some great anons doing a fandub, others planning a game, but /tg/ style, as well as writers that are working on fanfics and plot rewrites. We have plenty of interesting projects going on.

Seems like the general idea will be that it starts at the beginning of the series and you'll explore different routes focused on different characters.
We're still deciding on how to handle the protag, if to just make it Mitsu or make some silent protag. But like the guy above said, we're not all together at the moment so it's hard to discuss or decide anything.

I'm saying fanfic in a sense that you wouldn't be able to enjoy it unless you've seen the show. I understand by making the protag a silent bystander you're trying to give room for the existing real characters, but if I'd have to play a game without already knowing why the focus is on those characters, I'd be super confused on who the protag is and why was a writing choice made like this in the first place.
Not like I have that much room to say as I'm probably not going to contribute, just offering this as an outsider opinion. Definitely go Mitsu or full original and well-developed protag.

I was going to post it on the website, it seems that a lot of people enjoy the idea of an otome style game. If it's the case, a neutral protagonist would be the most flexible choice. The second option would be choosing two canon characters, to appeal to both genders. Mitsumune would be the playable choice for males, and some girl character would have the protagonist role for female players. Then again, some routes can turn out to be pretty awkward since they derail from the actual plot. This is just an idea, and don't worry, you're already contributing with opinions and ideas.

It depends on what the majority decides, but I like Sharkpon's design, so I would definitely draw that. It's not like we're ripping official art either, I'll just try my best to imitate the style and redraw where possible. So I have the liberty to combine the anime and manga versions where necessary.

We could always return to the original site. As it is now it basically doesn't exist since we can't use it, it wouldn't hurt to have a second place set for now so we're not just all scattered and losing motivation on what to do.

Both choices will lead us to lose members. If we wait too much, some anons might just drop the website. If this happened at the beginning, it would've been fine, but the threads right now were full of developing projects and this abrupt shutdown put us all in a really uncomfortable situation.
The two website anons never meant to compete with each other, and the idea itself would be a disadvantage. We don't have too many active posters in these threads, and even among these, only a few actually reached the site. If you were to split this small group again, you'd get a website with new replies every three-four days at best.
Mayoiga kinda achieves the impossible. It is a structurally sound AND consistent work with arcs resolved deftly, but that doesn't mean it is supposed to have "meaning"/themes. Imagine Mizushima and Okada crafting this giant glass jar and you would have expected they would fill it up with something usable -- like water or nuts. That's what the viewers expect when they saw the trailer and premise. Instead, the creators poured Aquaman comics to the brim.
It's like obvious that Mayoiga is inspired by stuff like Higurashi, Ghost Hound, and Mizushima's comparable and previous work Another. They have their own internal logic (their own glass jars) and they decide to fill it up with ideas and themes that they think work with the story the writers are trying to tell.
But what Mizushima and Okada did was show the viewers they can empty the jar in front of them. No wonder the viewers reacted with such extreme polarity! I'm sure I was not the only one who felt touched by some random dramatic scenes interspersed in the second half and was cheering on for some of the characters once I got used to the insane pacing and logic. The jar I'm in made a lot of sense as I started to watch it. But then, the ending happened. Mizushima and Okada emptied the jar again and filled it with something stupider -- like SeHNNG's shittweets.
People know the medium is the message -- but here, Mayoiga suggests that the medium IS the joke. Look at this goddamn jar. We can fill it up with anything we want like ice cream, N*SYNC memorabilia etc. And it doesn't matter if it makes any sense in terms of "meaning"/themes -- if it is structurally/internally consistent, it makes SENSE. It is supposed to make sense, but it doesn't; it only makes SENSE! SENSE is the fact that you can fill anything inside the jar.The Aquaman comics jar makes as much sense as a jar with SeHNNG's shittweets and a jar with something useful.
Mayoiga is a masterpiece.

By mid week I though it was going to die slowly, so I got a bit sloppy with checking whether it was live. But seeing that people care makes me happy and I will be a bit more proactive now.
Improvements: Sticky and mod delete at least. Some db cleanup and better tagging. Media file sharing for the fandub. Larger image limits. (Technical: I also need some actual deployment process. Right now it's way too manual work.) And putting the code on GitHub. That way people can put in whatever they want, should they actually care.
