Dumping illustrations from the Anne of Green Gables sequels, starting from Anne of Avonlea.
What kind of kid gives his new teacher a flower just because he likes her?
Which loli will you adopt, /a/?
The twin Marilla adopted.
The boy, Davy, is the naughty one while the girl, Dora, is the good one.
Anne comforting Dora after she got locked in the storeroom due to Davy's antics.
Anne writing a letter to her friend, Jane Andrews.
>>142880696
damn this shite's good
This is from when Anne found a dead squirrel being put underneath her desk. Too bad we don't have an illustration of her whipping the responsible kid.
>>142881008
Glad you like it.
Sequal? I thought anne was a novel adoption. Does the novel have a sequel or is the sequel just some magna artist's headcanon?
>>142881187
>Does the novel have a sequel
Yes, all the way until Anne has kids in WW1.
The fabled "tea party in a flower field"
The shota admirer is back.
More of Davy's shenanigans.
This translation actually makes Davy call Anne "Neechan", unlike in the original where he'll just call her by her name. Honorifics in English is just stuff like Mr or Miss after all.
Diana is more beautiful here than in the anime.
Charlotte The Fourth, named so because the lady employing her can't be bothered to remember her real name so she just calls her Charlotte after her first maid/helper.Kinda looks like if Anne is fatter.
Miss Lavender, her employer. That weird old maid living away from civilization.
What year was this edition published? The characters look so moe. Anne and the pretty girls have a kyoani look to them.
The American shota, Paul, meets with Miss Lavender.

Apparently, it was published at 2008. Illustrator is HACCAN, which mostly illustrates kids books, it seems.
I miss the times when girls would wear flowers on their heads.
Diana gets proposed to.
Miss Lavender finally marries with Paul's widowed father. Apparently, they used to be a pair once before they broke up over some silly thing.Montgomery loves putting old maid romance in her stories since she herself is one, married at 38 or something.
And that's it for Anne of Avonlea. Next up, Anne of the Island.
Anne and Diana reminiscing to the good ol' times.
Anne being greeted by Priscilla when she left the train to Redmond University.
Priscilla appeared in the anime by the way, along with Stella, another of Anne's housemate in this book. They were in the Queen's High School arc.
Meet the new girl, Philippa Gordon. Quite a fan favorite in Japan's 2ch thread for her wacky (not sure how to describe it) attitude. Once bravely wore a white and red dress that look like a barberpole (not illustrated here, sadly).
It's kind of a thing in later Anne books that Anne becomes the no-nonsense character while she's surrounded by weirdoes.
Looking for a house to rent.
Stella warming herself in a winter day.
Holiday comes, and Anne returns to Green Gables. Anne and Diana meet with the cranky Grandma Atos. Anne says anyone will be cranky if you're named that.
Anne gets her writing criticized. The criticism is kinda aimed at your typical Victorian romance stories.
>>142882166
You have illustrations for the entire series of novels?
Davy skips Sunday school, blackmailing Dora to go along by saying he'll tell that some kid kissed her at school and she wasn't mad for it.
Now I am reminded of Dicken's David Copperfield in which the 7-year old protagonist just straights up ask for a kiss from a girl he just met. Funny how 19th century West is still more brave than 21st century Japan about kids and teenagers having a romance.Fuck, I hate how you can't zoom with Kindle PC. I can get a better detail zooming that pic in my phone.
>>142882590
No. Only the 2,3, and 4. 1 and 5 are avaiable but for some reason Amazon.jp now denies my purchase.
What stunning illustrations. Thank you for sharing them, anon.
Anne being followed by her soon-to-be-new cat. It's supposed to be ugly but you don't really see that here. Anne's friends would have had chloroformed him to death if not for Anne adopting him for a pet.
>>142882875
You're welcome.
I hear we have a lack of college-age CGDCT.
I could never understand the passion of Japanese towards Anne. It's respective show were the blandest overall in Masterpiece Theater franchise. What a shame.
Davy writing a letter to Anne while Dora is watching. The translation makes the letter use short sentences to make it sound like it's written by a child. The original goes further and misspells things.
The highlight of the letter is Davy saying what his ideal wife would be, after being asked by his new teacher in class. He says that he wants her to be pretty and obedient and be able to cook well. Also, she must be kind to the poor. And he writes it all with such innocence the teacher laughs when he reads it.
>>142883246
But it's like the most well revived among the WMT hipsters. It's the only period drama that wasn't completely eclipsed by rose of versailles
Philippa dressing up before going to a party.
Anne and Phil visiting Anne's old home.
Anne meeting with Paul back at Green Gables. Paul is growing up and is leaving his fairies behind.
Here comes Gilbert's rival.
>>142883606
I read the a summary of that on a wiki and it all felt like your typical shoujo plot line. Is was it executed well in the novel or does it feel cheesy?
And here is Anne's rival.
>>142883693
It's not cheesy at all. It's more comedic instead of romantic really.I just feel bad for Roy though...
Diana's marriage at last.
>>142883693
Also, Montgomery herself said she couldn't write romance since she had too much sense of humor to do so.
Diana's baby.
Anne is praying.
Honestly, I think I prefer Gilbert's design in the anime.
That's it for Anne of The Island. The next one is Anne of Windy Poplars.
>>142883729
I got kind of scared when I read that anne rejects gilbert because she doesn't realise her true feelings only to come around when he is about to die. Seemed corny and cliche, but I'm glad it wasn't melodramatic.
Doesn't quite come across how Diana gradually gets plumpier since her first appearance.
Cute though.
>>142884053
I think the plump thing started at the fifth book.
>>142884038
The joke is when Anne rejects Roy and how the resident airhead Philippa berates her for it, saying how Anne is more indecisive than she is, leading on poor Roy only to reject him.
Also the various moments Anne gets jealous when she hears about Christine.
Everyone, I mean everyone from Marilla to Mrs. Lynde to the readers knows they're going to end up together.
It's also a study on Anne's character on how she can't distinguish between the love she reads in books with the handsome, dark, tall, and poetic princes with the real love she feels with Gilbert. Roy is that prince and it drives her mad how he is supposed to be her ideal but she just doesn't feel it.
If you want more dramatic and less comedic romance, read the Emily series. It almost ended in a tragedy there.
Anne goes back to teaching again, but this time as a headmistress.
Only to get shit like this.
>>142883339
>>142883246
Anne fandom is a fucking hivemind. It's neither dramatic like A Little Princess nor funny like Tom Sawyer yet it manages to hold the highest audience alongside with Rascal. The only good thing about Anne is the backgrounds. It's the anime definition of conformism.
Meet the neighbor loli, an imaginative orphaned girl oppressed by her aunt and grandma.
>>142880760
Give me the loli on the far left.
>>142884648
>nor funny like Tom Sawyer
>he doesn't know that Mark Twain praised Anne
>>142884648
Melodrama in A Little Princess is nothing to hold high.
>>142880746
A kid who get easily infatuated? The love-at-first sight type.
Meet the graveyard tour guide.
No seriously, she just came to Anne and began explaining all the history behind the people buried there. Gossiping with the newcomer, I suppose.
>>142884724
I'm not talking about the book. Book is a masterpiece, but anime isn't.
>>142884737
The voice actress of Lavinia had death threats because of that shit.
That winter clothing looks so comfy.
>>142884648
I've seen Anne recently and it doesn't seem to stand out much from the rest of period dramas.
>>142884782
>The voice actress of Lavinia had death threats because of that shit.
What? The drama was so bad the voice actress revived death threats? And I though that only the recent generation of anime fans was immature.
>>142884782
>The voice actress of Lavinia had death threats because of that shit.
Ironically, Lavinia in the book isn't particularly gunning against Sara. She's just an example of your usual bratty, prejudiced rich lady of the Victorian age.
>>142884648
Fuck off Sarafag. You appear almost every WMT related threads just to say that. You're at wrong medium if you want to see poor orphans doing sad things.
>>142884908
>Sarafag is now a thing on 4chan
Used to be a thing on 2ch when the WMT fandom was still going strong. People shittalking other popular WMTs that aren't their favorite.
>>142884887
Lavinia was a massive asshole in the series. That's why someone sent a knife to her VA.
>>142884981
Not a knife. It was a razor.
This Sara vs Anne rivalry is pretty funny since Miyazaki almost chose Sara's VA for Anne only to be stopped by Takahata.
And then Anne's VA ends up voicing Lavinia whom bullies Sara.
>>142885062
Oh yeah, my bad.
>>142884970
Sarafags have a right. Their show is actually good unlike Katri or Remifags.
Anne is now a fashion designer.
>>142885099
Remi seems like a WMT Frankenstein's monster where they want to appeal to the fanboys while repeating Romeo's success by making the book's short Paris part into a pseudo-Milan but without the little boy friendship that made Romeo famous which boy-Remi and Mattia would have totally pulled off.
I should still finish that shit.
>>142885097
It's not a rivalry. Annefags has nothing to have against them unless some butthurt Sarafag comes and says Anne lacks drama and emotion. You can't make a WMT thread without those "muh drama" autists. Fucking assholes.
>>142885161
>I should still finish that shit
Even it's creator didn't bothered with that, why should you?
>>142885099
>unlike Katri
Such lust for a Finland farmgirl.
Katri is like the WMT for otakus since it has a significant following but only on 2ch.
>>142885161
>repeating Romeo's success
Romeo didn't succeed, anon. It only got 10% rating back then.
>>142885195
>You can't make a WMT thread without those "muh drama" autists. Fucking assholes.
You're lucky you get any replies if you make a WMT thread.
Annie is comfy as fuck. I do not doubt people started to buy properties in Prince Edward Island because of the book.
>>142885230
Lassie was the one that got cancelled, anon. Remi was planned to be 26 episodes from the start.
>>142885251
I wonder what Montgomery would think that she ended up supporting PEI's economy massively via tourism.
>>142885231
>Romeo didn't succeed, anon. It only got 10% rating back then.
Still better formula than immediately after.
Meet Nora, one of the two tsundere of this book.
>>142885257
Oh? I always thought that the ending was too abrupt. Still every 's WMT drama seems like that. Even Romeo felt like a rollercoaster.
>>142885353
You watch Lassie? I don't think anyone watches that.
>>142884776
>and began explaining all the history behind the people buried there
Automatically best girl.
>>142885331
Lassie was meant to be 50% SoL at the beginning and 50% drama at the end. Then it got cut so it turned to just two episodes of drama at the end.
A shame. I want to watch how they would portray a dog's journey for 26 episodes.
>>142885195
Sarafags are salty because their show doesn't get much attention. And I don't know why should it get neither. It's literally a torture porn. I don't know why someone watches 45 episodes of a girl getting abused.
>>142885381
They say that it was worse than Bushbaby so I didn't bothered with.
The classic "climb into your girlfriend's room and then confesses your love to her" maneuver. Lucky she hasn't changed out of her clothes yet.
>>142885444
They can blame themselves if they expected a four-cour run by that time.
>>142885498
I haven't watched it myself but it does have some fanbase over at 2ch.
I have read the book though. What a masterpiece.
>>142885520
It's a tradition that WMT runs a whole year.
>>142880746
That image screams NTR NTR NTR. If I didn't actually know how the novels go, I'd be worried.
Didn't Romeo also get cut, leading to shit like Angeletta disappearing to Paris forever? We know her true fate from the book.
>>142885547
Yeah the book is great like every other WMT book. But the animation is a disaster. It had the worst aspects of 90's anime.
>>142885564
>getting NTR-ed by a little kid
What kind of NTR doujins have you been reading?
>>142884648
>more people like X more than Y so they're are part of a hivemind
A while ago people would be happy to even have the chance to watch these shows, considering there were barely any subs around, but it seems that even WMT isn't safe from cunts like you anymore.
>>142885718
>doesn't know about the thread wars in 2ch
Nah WMT has always been like that. You're the one who's new.
>>142885589
I just don't like that overly round character design.
>>142885779
What makes you assume I'm talking about the Japanese fandom?
>>142882768
I don't know, on one side, in Japanese stories kindergardeners kissing and even making marriage promises isn't that uncommon, little kids just cut to the chase, it's teenagers that get all hot and bothered only thinking of it.
On the other side, Anne acts tsundere to her childhood friend for like FOREVER over something he did as a very little kid. I don't think that's really any different at all from modern Japanese narrative. In fact I think it might have inspired it a bit. See also the thing you mentioned here >>142882077
about Miss Lavender.
Let's not even get started about Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, or Great Expectations (just imagine the NTR threads we would have if there ever was a Great Expectations anime).
>>142885848
There's no US or Japanese fandom. WMT is WMT. You're fairly new if you don't know that cussing and bitching about other shows is a part of it. Do you think it's gonna be happy fun time you motherfucker?
>>142885779
This is why you go to Futaba where everyone's chillingand fappingto WMT.
>>142884539
This could easily become an exploitable. Also this bullying reminds me of Ellen Baker for some reason.
Now this one is the neighbor shota. Also an orphan, his mom died while his father became a grumpy recluse.
>>142884776
Sounds like one of these weird "go at their own pace" girls in muh animu.
Isn't he just adorable?
>>142885013
Einsten on the left.
This is the second tsundere of the book, Katherine. For some reason, she's quite popular on the Anne threads at 2ch.
>>142885467
I still remember when that was on TV here at like 6:30 am. Surely, not the best way to start a day before going to school, so I just looked for some good old 70's mecha show on local channels.
>>142885518
On the background:
Various degrees of want.
>>142885591
The kind where the flowers would contain some kind of aphrodisiac and she would get attacked at the side of the road. I dunno, I think it's the curls, Japanese men with curly hair are always the NTR kind of guy.
>>142886149
I have read enough doujins to know what that dog is going to do next.
>>142886219
You're supposed to watch it while having dinner.
>>142886216
Must be because she's the class president type?
>>142886313
Don't tell me, tell the people who made the timetables. I don't think there was ever an anime right at dinner time here, the closest would be the first airing of Sailor Moon S which was around 7:30 PM. Which I guess IS dinner time somewhere, although around here dinner time is usually 8:30 PM.
>>142885919
Been watching WMT since I was a kid, even used to own a bunch of DVDs. If you think people trolling and shitting on stuff like Akage no Anne or Perrine was always the norm it just proves you haven't been around for the actual discussions. Threads usually died after 50 or so replies, but at least you didn't have post-2009 kids whining about retarded shit like fanbases.
>Do you think it's gonna be happy fun time you motherfucker?
Epic win, /b/ro
>>142886313
Why?
>>142886341
Not really. She's more of a grumpy working class female who hates her job.
...Oh, that explains it. In the end, she leaves her hated job and becomes a secretary to some minister, traveling all around the world. She starts anew with the help of Anne.
The readers of Anne on 2ch are mostly middle-aged women after all.
>>142886445
Because it airs at that time on Japan.
>>142886500
Is Jo from Little Women also popular?
Now, this girl is a parody of those overly conscious romantic types you often found in romance novels. She comes to Anne and asks for her advice in her lovemaking while in tears. Then, after all that heartrending conversation, she then turns around 180 degrees and insults Anne for daring to tell her to leave her fiancee if she doesn't love him anymore, complete with the postscript of telling Anne a natural cure for her freckles.
Anne can take what she dishes out except for that last one.
>>142886620I don't actually go to Little Women threads like I don't go to Little House on The Prairie threads because I haven't read the books.
Neighbor loli playing with Dora and Davy. She finally got some friends.
>>142886660
In what year does this story exactly takes place?
>>142884887
In what sense it doesn't stand out? Just curious.
Here comes Gerald and Geraldine, another twin. The crying little girl over there is their current victim. She keeps saying that Gerard will become her future beau, angering Gerard who hates icky girls and she loves to brag about her new clothes, which angers the jealous Geraldine. Add that she has the reputation of this good girl who the twin should emulate, no wonder the two hates her.
So, they take her to a woodshed where her screams couldn't be heard and then pull of her stockings, before painting her legs red and green.
>>142886778
Around the end of the 19th century.
This is Anne being a matchmaker again. The girl in the bed has promised to elope only she isn't brave enough to do so. And if she betrays her promise once again, this isn't the only time this has happened, the man swears he will leave the island forever and never sees her again. Of course Anne isn't going to have that go.It's fine in the end though. Turns out the girl's father is just too proud to let his daughter go after refusing so many times. He approves of the man's bravery of stealing his daughter.
Here's the happy end for the neighbor loli. Her father returns from Europe after Anne sends a letter to him to take his daughter away, leaving the aunt and the grandma behind.
And that's all I have. There's still Book 1 and 5 but I can't purchase them for some reason. Gotta get some proxy or some shit.
