I never get this. Ukyou is OLEV, but she pretty much hit Ranma when she gets upset and embarrassing almost comparatively as Akane.
Shampoo was straight cray-cray. I do believe she does actually develop feelings for Ranma, but she would legit kill Akane (and Kodachi and Ukyo for that matter) if she had the opportunity to do so. Plus half the time she tries to put Ranma under some love spell or win by crook or nook.
Akane was bad at the beginning, but the girl is trying to impress him in her own way by trying to knit scarf or cook for him even though she is turrible in anything feminine. Plus, a lot of the hitting she does is when Ranma was being an asshole for no reason or putting his foot in his mouth later on. I kinda felt bad for her that she used to be the strongest (technically second strongest to Kuno) in Nerima and you have all of these characters coming in and they are so much stronger than her.
