Saten's actually a pretty decent character. It's just director Nagai and his writers have an obsession with mischaracterizing the entire cast and marketing the show as something it isn't to people who decidedly aren't Raildex's target demographic. The anime is some kind of feel good wankfest while the manga is pretty nihilistic in its execution. Harumi and Shinobu's fates being ambiguous in order to remind us that there are consequences when you try to fight AC's secret agenda. If it wasn't for the humor, it'd be depressing as fuck.

Heavy Object was excellent though.
I really want to see Daihaseisai animated in the next Railgun season if we get one. It was pretty glorious to go back to read all of it in one go and it even shows off all the minor characters that were boring and one note in the anime.
