>You couldn't protect her smile
I hate to admit it but I can't sympathy or feel anything with " children being experimented on " stories anymore. They overused it to the point of becoming a cliche and the easiest way to build a tragic backstory to the charcters.
Charlotte, Punchline and now Kiznaivers failed hard at making me sympathy with the main charcters. The only anime did it right for me was Zankyou no Terror because it had a bit of realism to it with a tragic end.

>Zankyou no Terror
literally killer autism
in Kiznaiver kids are actually altered biologically, wired so to speak

It wasn't a smile worth protecting.

Please no. He really redeemed his otherwise worthless character this last episode. I mean, Kacchon would have starved to death if he hadn't come with food, since he can't feel hunger. Chidori knows this, yet nonetheless let him die - selfish whiny melodramatic.
Which begs the question: where the fuck are Kacchon's parents in all of this? They know he's an emotionally damaged individual that requires above-average care, yet they're nowhere to comfort their child. I suppose they may be party in the Kizna experiment this time round too, but you'd think they'd not make the mistake of hurting their child a second time.

Good thing I didn't watch garbage ass Charlotte and Punchline was too busy being an action comedy for the 15 minutes of bad times backstory to matter
Should've mentioned Kekkai Sensen though

They put their child in an experiment that could go horribly wrong, which it did. They are horrible parents, I wouldn't expect much from them anyway.
>>142793795
Maybe they didnt tell everyone what happened to the kids. Like some are potatoes. Easier to just say it failed and they all fucking died.
>>142793623
>hnnnng intensifies
>>142794078
>that could go horribly wrong
But they make it clear they had no idea of the devastating consequences, as it was supposed to be distributed evenly. And similarly, parents involved in the experiment handed over their children without a second thought. It's almost cult-like in that regard, but fails to be anything other than contrived given the poorly developed grandiose premise.
