It takes more or less the same amount of time, but with more work in the pre-production stage for 3D shows.
Chara-models, backgrounds, props and story-boards stages are the same as 2d works. Animation can take less time, depends of the budget, same thing for the rendering but with extra work on 3d. Only talking about correct GC shows here though, and given the chara models for Berserk, they probably didn't really took the time to do a good modeling and rigging and hired some shit tier animators.

No. The thing with CG is that to make it good you need to pay a pretty hefty downpayment. But since you can always reuse the assets as many times as you like, the initial investment pays off best over time. But then you've got anime studios who pay squat to get some serviceable CG models instead, and they still save money over time because the digital assets can be reused.

Berserk isn't that popular in Japan, at least not anymore. It can be hard to find the manga in bookshops and any goods for it are in specialist, second hand shops only.
