Mokoto Shishio will probably always be my favorite villain, some have come close but fall flat by the end, he was just perfect.
I know "survival of the fittest" is a cliche ideology but when done correctly its really fucking good.

Agreed. I loved how Shishio gave a monologue about how the weak are food for the strong, and then five minutes later bit a chunk of flesh out of Kenshin's shoulder.
