I had a lot of fun with it.
First part was eh, Bright was reduced to a laughing stock, Judau was fine, Puru was incredibly annoying, by the time the more serious part kicked in I was paying 50% attention to the show. But that might be because I find pacing in Gundam's full TV shows to be too slow.
Just finished it. The prevalence of goofy comedy in the beginning is weird, especially since there are still people being killed almost every episode, but it turns into more of what you'd expect from a Gundam series about halfway in.
Regardless of what people say, it was a definitive Gundam series that has its own identity and blended well with the time it was airred.
I'd rather have more ZZ than forgettable shit like IBO.
Kinda related but why is everyone is shitting on AGE? I'm 30 episode in and it's pretty good so far. The plot is pretty classic with a bunch of incoherence here and there and the dialogue is pretty shitty sometime but overall I feel the mecha action more than make up for it. It's basically a better IBO. Is the last arc that shitty?

The comedy is good and the middle is great. The last arc kinda sucks as you can tell that Tomino was busy with CCA and put a lot less effort after Dublin. Weakest finale of any Tomino Gundam.
People mostly hate it because Tomino went full "fuck the Zeta audience, this one is a kid show" despite being a direct sequel to Zeta.

Overall it's very inconsistent tonally, even if you ignore how much of a direct sequel to Zeta it is.

It was alright, though I am curious (and a bit surprised) how sunrise recently acquired the rights to Megas XLR. A 13 some odd year old American series from cartoon network.
Has these adaptations ever happened and been successful? It just seems like they don't have the American staff and writers to make it anywhere near as popular as it may have been long ago.
