Surely, smashing through the roof is part of the play (I had a honest laugh at the stupidity of that). The ignorance is there for the whole series, but it was the worst in this episode.

There is no way anyone who has actually seen a broad swathe of the medium can defend the last few years of modern late night anime.
Precure isn't the best little girl show ever, but it still manages to usually have coherent characters and not fetish archetypes stuffed in harems or moeblobs which are so stripped down as not to offend fanatical otaku they can barely move or register as human. Mecha is a walking corpse thanks to cg and all the talent behind it aging or going insane. Fantasy and action shows has been overran by unfinished budget LN promotions, with an occasional remake that's always worse than the original.
There is a noted demographic difference too, the ai/pc/etc watchers are typically older on average.
