Is the Tsukihime anime worth seeing if the VN feels too dated for you
No, just read the manga.
fuck you the vn art has a wholesome feeling to it.
Even though the VN hasn't aged well it's still infinitely better than the anime. The adaptation doesn't do the small part it covers at all any justice, not to mention not even bothering to show the more worthwhile paths.

the game is horrible and the cg are shit but the kohaku route is pretty good, so, if you play the visual novel you should begin to the kohaku route first

"There is no Tsukihime anime" exists as a platitude because the anime adaption is bad, boring, sleep-inducing and frankly, far worse than a VN of already dubious quality.
