I'm pretty pleased with myself for recognizing the melody that played during the baton competition in Tamako Love Story was Ue wo Muite Aruko by Kyu Sakomoto, the only japanese language song to ever chart in the US (retitled for American consumption as 'Sukiyaki'). This was despite that fact that it was a thinly veiled protest song against the US occupation of Japan after WWII.
So does this mean that Kyoani does not want Americans watching their shows? Do they feel that Americans without Japanese blood are unfit to claim their girls as waifu?
