Anime achieved its creative peak in works like Ashita No Joe, Wings Of Honneamise, and The Legend of the Galactic Heroes, elevating the medium into a legitimate art form. Now, thanks to Lucky Star and Love Hina, all its potential was squandered and the medium has been reduced into being mere gimmick ridden pandering for virgin otaku (i.e. the lowest common denominator - stop trying to turn underground anime into My Little Pony).

I feel like I should've watched legend of the galactic heroes when I was first starting anime. Because honestly, after all the moeshit, LN harem anime, and god knows what else I've had to sit through, it feels kind of ruined for me, and I feel like I would've enjoyed legend before I got caught up in all these other, I guess you could say, lesser anime
Reminder that TV anime is shit and literally for children. It is also inherently anti-art because of TV content restrictions and lower budgets which make the artwork and animation worse. True patricians watch anime movies and OVAs because they can appreciate the artistry of the medium of animation and the unfiltered creativity and brilliance of Japan's greatest visionaries.
