Azumanga is kinda boring and repetitive to be honest, it reuses a too many scenarios (sport eps, beach eps, festival eps) across 26 episodes.
Nichijou do a lot more with the same amount and has more variety.

This. This was the final straw for Kyoani with Kadokawa; it was part of the reason they split up. I'd imagine them being forced to make LS into a 25-minute Kadokawa commercial was the first part of the reason.

I personally found it hilarious. If I recommend comedies to people, it's generally in the first three I recommend (the top three also includes nichibros). I can understand why it failed due to pricing, but I honestly could give a shit less about the opinions of fags who can't comprehend the humor.
You can't even really compare it to Lucky Star, Yuru Yuri, or Non Non Biyori because it is a the humor is most definitely not the same.

They were never really a Kadokawa appendage because they also did keyshit and K-on, but even if they were, they were working on their own IPs before Nichijou aired. Tamako Market is said be have started production (and I mean organization and all that, not animation) as early as 2010, and Chuuni came even before that.

1) The one with Yukko and Nano towards the end
2) The one with Yukko/Mai/Nano and Mio (also towards the end)
