I checked out the preview in Chrome before the TL (yeah, I know) and it kept on translating Hinata's last name as 'sun'. Is that a valid reading of her name? Makes a nice tie in with Wakaba's name if it is.

Hinata is her first name which means "towards the sun" or something like that. Her last name is Uesato, which means "the one who's from up above", probably meaning that her ancestors came from a village somewhere in the mountains or something.

The kanji may be "sun" and "facing", but the word itself means "place in the sun", that is, the opposite of shade.
