The scene is garbage, they buy the mag, cut it up and just scan with whatever shitty low res equipment they have at hand while making coffee and just dump it.
And you will rarely find more than 1 scan for older things since no one cares, and even new releases just go out of print without getting scanned at all.
If you want to do something right do it yourself.
And mourn all the content that is lost forever.

It's kinda hard to keep track of it since a lot gets wiped or some are obscure enough that they never get ripped.

I don't even have a scanner but I googled a few guides to know how to properly level/burn/dodge some craps to get a good result from a not so good raw.
The only thing that I remember about scanning is closing the lid properly if you can, using a black/white (not sure) paper behind the page to avoid the content in the back, everything else was settings/learning how to adjust the image.

- Cleaning the in and outside of the scanner glass with the wrong materials
- Wrongful cleaning of the scanner glass
- Using an outdated scanner
- Using a sheetfed scanner and don't know shit of how to do maintainence
