So why is tsundere the most used "character type"?

So why is tsundere the most used "character type"? if you are autistic and not happy with the wording "character type" imagine I used your preferred definition instead

I get that it is a proven concept, it works, tsundere sells. However, Higurashi and Mirrai Nikki showed that Yandere works really well too, Angel Beats showed that dandere works etc.. Yet outside of these handful of examples you can name for the other types, it is tsundere all the way down.

personally I would go for characters that don't really fall into any one category and are more complex, but that is arguably asking too much

bump
This is something I have been wondering for a while now. Why the dominance of and preference for the tsundere character type?
>>
fuck off.
>>
>>141960544
Because a lot of people are huge closet masochists
>>
>>141961119
Well that would go more the direction of Prison School and the like surely?
>>
>>141960544
Because otakus are little shit who have always been controled even by women. So they need this tsundere who makes them their bitch like always but who later on falls for them. They feel a revange and a win in this situation

This guy gets it

It's easy and simple character development and personality contrast, that nobody does correctly anyways.

The raw concept of a tsundere is really simple, it's a girl that starts out hating you and eventually ends up liking you. Also Shana from SnS popularized it.
Nobody really does it correctly anymore because they usual lapse into the dere phase too quickly or they switch between hate and love erratically.

I personally think it works better in a romcom or straightforward romance than it does in a flat out harem (three or more girls). Clock best girl no contest
>>
>>141960544
They're easy to write, and good sources of drama.

all wrong, it is just really cute when a girl gets flustered and acts stupid around a guy, shows they like him, so they put it in anime and like anything else in anime it's a little more extreme.
>>
>>141960544
Because tsundere is one of the oldest archetypes and it works. But Japanese otaku in particular eat them up because they are contrary to Japan's culture that keeps to its respectful, mannered, and lifeless servitude to society lifestyle.

>>he thinks Shana was the first series to have tsun loli
Literally what.
>>
>>141961774
She wasn't the first but she made it popular.
>>
>>141960544
Because Tsundere is how girls actually act in the real world you fuck. No girl likes a guy instantly unless he has status. And your pic isn't even a tsundere.
>>
>>141961854
Are you saying these are literally 2dpds?
>>
>>141961691
>>141961803
>thinks she made it popular
You are so new.
>>
Because otakus want to pretend the women in real life actually like them and not hate their guts
>>
>>141961903
I'm going to break alot of anon's hearts but you can't have 2d without 3d
>>
>>141960544
/a/ is tsundere, with all tsun and dere. Asking them is not a smart idea.
>>
>>141960544
Otaku dreaming girls that said "Kimo Otaku" are deep down actually love them.
"They just shy." Otaku said.
>>
>>141961854
Kurumi is a mix of tsundere and yandere. Or rather, yangire in some cases.
>>
Okay, so lots of responses to why tsundere is popular, but why not yandere? Am I simply overestimating the popularity of Higurashi and Mirai Nikki in Japan? I was always under the impression both did fairly well if not straight up good in moonland.

>>141961854
>your pic isn't even a tsundere
I didn't imply that, it was more to go along with my last comment of
>personally I would go for characters that don't really fall into any one category and are more complex
I mean, I realize the character of Kurumi isn't exactly Tolstoi'esque, but she isn't as 1 dimensional as a lot of characters.

Fixed.

>doesn't remember the dozens of KugiRie shana clones
No you are the newfag
>>
>>141960544
Everyone can be categorized as S, M, or both. Tsundere satisfies both S and M so that's why they're popular. You could be a S or M and can tsundere attractive.
>>
>>141962140
>You could be a S or M and can tsundere attractive.
Has anyone really been far...
>>
>>141961910
Newfag plz
>>
>>141962111
There's like less than a dozen. Either way, being a popular type doesn't mean she got the bubble up and running. Asuka did that.
>>
>>141962214
>Doesn't know Asuka or even Naru
No, anon, you are the newfag.
>>
>>141962225
There's more Rei clones than Asuka clones. NGE started the Kuudere trend but not the tsundere one.

And if you honestly think that Asuka was the first tsundere then fuck off.
>>
>>141962195
What? Speak English and quit with the ellipsis like a faggot.
>>
>>141962299
Rei was more popular in Japan at the time, but it doesn't mean Asuka didn't popularized it, retard.

No shit she isn't. There have been a few other tsundere Asuka, but none of them made it popular.

Never seen an article littered with that many [citatation needed], might as well be reading a work of fiction. Not that I am disputing it is a real thing though, private vs public is not unique to moonland.
>>
>>141962454

Not even the guy you're quoting and failed to quote.
YOU can't even remember the 10 year-old joke, dumbfuck. Quit the ellipsis since it makes you look like from not4chan.
