Why would you? It's not hand drawn anymore, frame by frame, and no one complains. They use computers to animate 2D instead of making it by hand like they did in the 80s and everyone just accepts it as the norm. Eventually the tech will catch up with everyone's expectations one way or another. Whether that's just a new generation of watchers or it just gets better... we'll see

While a lot of it is digital these days, anime is still by hand and people. Whether it is through the hand or a tablet/paintbucket. There will never be a time cg will replace 2d and there will never be a time it will look like anything but arse unless you throw lots of money and talent at it.
