I started watching that and around 2 or 3 episodes in I realized it was starkly similar to Ano Natsu de Matteru and stopped watching it. Is Onegai worth watching all the way through if I've already watched Ano Natsu?

You get too attached to the characters. MC is endearing, Taiga is a little shit but she tries, single mom working to provide, everyone constantly has little failures but keeps pushing on etc. They are fleshed out like real people.
Then at the end of the show shit hits the fan because graduation is around the corner. Everyone has been running away from their problems because they are enjoying life as high schoolers and ignoring the fact that the clock is ticking on the wall. These people will never see each other again when they go off to college. And it's no even so much the romance as it is the constant running away from problems that I find most people relate to. Thats a real problem for a lot of people. And it bites them in the ads in real life just like it does for people in the show. And it hurts to watch them struggle because we've been there.
