No, it doesn't work that way. Minmay's personality, as we saw in Flashback (and the First), is indeed like DYRL. She looks like in DYRL because it was her who played her role. She officially spent time trapped with the Zentraedi according to chronicle, contradicting the tv series, because she became that ambassador of peace that Zents love to death and why so many spent decades chasing after her MIA status.
