Anybody in the mood for a Baki thread?
I know there isn't much to discuss in terms of new chapters, but there's a lot of things to talk about with Baki. Where we're headed, where we should be headed, what parts you liked, favorite char/technique, etc. It's been quite a bit since we've had a thread just celebrating the series; one that wasn't a chapter release thread.
I won't bump the thread, so do what you will.

I'm waiting for the scanlation of the Kid Arc to be finished so I can reread the whole series (I'll watch the anime for the Maximum Tournament, it's been a long while). And while I'm at it I'll try to make a complete compilation of Yujiro reaction faces.

You think the author takes scale in consideration or is size just variable? In that picture it looks like Shibukawa wouldn't even need to bend to give Hanayama a blowjob.

It's a very old and very common concept in art; Itagaki just makes it much more obvious: inaccurate or inconsistent size used as representatives of relative significance, strength, glory, fear, and/or a few other traits the artist intends to exhibit without text. The examples of this have become far more obvious as the series has progressed. Pic related is probably the best example we've had overall.
Itagaki uses a lot of art techniques in Baki that few people notice; in this one, the 'size change' also produces accidentals on the soldier profiles. And that background is not something simple to draw. I really don't understand why people - uneducated or not - say his art is bad. "Different", yes, but not bad.
Baki might look exaggerated as fuck, but the art is fun to look at, and the paneling is excellent.
