It's passable with regards to modern dub quality which has improved quite a lot in the past decade. If you've watched the sub first though it will piss you off, kinda like how some people felt about the Ika Musume dub except with less puns.

It was okay.
Mako was great (same voice as dub Madoka, by the way).
Ryuuko was okay, more something you get used to (same voice as dub Gon, by the way).
Satsuki wasn't that good.
Senketsu was never forgive terrible.
The rest were all more or less alright. They did the same thing with Nono as they did with Haruko in FLCL in that they found an English VA who can do a really good Shintani impression.
By the way, I'm not great fan of dubs myself, but I'm not a moron who forms my opinion based on prejudice.

Gama did a fairly good job
I think it's pretty good. Satsuki and Ryuko were super on-point imo, and really captured the characters. Senketsu and Gamagoori aren't as good tho - their English VAs don't deliver with the same force and power as their JP ones. Ultimately a directing choice, just not one I agreed with.
Overall they did about as good of a job as was possible with translating the word-based humor, too, which was nice since you'lliss a ton of that if you don't speak JP anyway. Jokes don't translate great to begin with, but they do a pretty good job.

Eh, while Crispin Freeman owns his roles as Kyon, I felt that Wendee Lee was rather underwhelming.
She was spastic and energetic, sure, but lacked a fortitude in her voice to stand out as someone in charge.
Overall, not bad at all, just wouldn't go so far as to call it "perfect."

No, Both Ryuuko and Satsuki VA just can´t scream, if you saw the Bully la Bully fan dub, you are literally hearing the quality in voice acting, especailly Ryuuko sound like she wants sound angry, but not too angry, you know like when you pretending to sound angry, also some some reason they put more insults in the dialog, i guess to ppeal to the endgie american audeince, Satsuki in her calm or "sweet" moments just sound like she is talking in a low voice, is not credible, and i just can´t forgive them for making Ryuuko say, "Senketsu i need you to do me solid", i guess because they tought they needed to "modernize" Ryuuko for their 12 years old audience and Satsuki to call Ryuuko an "Idiot", that doesn´t bother me so much but i would prefer it if they used "ignorant" instead but eh.
A lot of of people say that Mako was good, but it wasn´t, she really sound stupid like a retarded person, when in reality she was just ingenuous or simple minded.
In all seriousness, i really think the only reason people say the dub was good, is because it was airing in Poopnami, and everything in Shitnami is good, right? the dub is mediocre at best, and for some reason everyone seems forget the Space Dandy dub, which it really is the only really good dub made since the FLCL dub.
