It’s the start of a battle that surpasses time and space, and drags in the God of Destruction, Kaiōshin, even the Omni-King! Many mysteries will be revealed!
There’s some confusing bits with time changing here and there, but just bear with me. It should definitely turn out to be a fun story!

Not to mention the meh transformations (although the SSGSS with Kaioken was alright), jobbers are still jobbing, and shitty pacing due to Toei writers having to adapt Toriyama's plot for 100 episodes of Super. This all feels like a cheap cash grab on the franchise that deserved much more. Who knows, hopefully the next arc will fix the show, but people will keep saying that until the show ends.

T had some pretty deep symbolism,and nostalgia to it,i mean it brought back the young Goku while also having a normal size Goku with ssj4,not to mention they brought back the Giant Ape concept with ssj4.They brought back so many forgotten notions like the planet Vegeta's origins and the revenge of the Tuffles.And not to mention the fact that the Dragon Balls were so important in this anime,I mean it's called Dragon Ball.They even showed there is a price to pay for spamming the dragon balls like they did in the past...Also Piccolo reached such an enlightened mindstate that he saw no place for himself on Earth,maybe even so he cannot see the others grow old and him staying the same,maybe he could not bare to see Gohan,the first being who acknowledged him...die before him.

Because younger me spent a while literally working out why things were different based on how Trunks changed the timeline. I came up with a pretty decent explanation in the end.
Long story short, 19 and 20 existed in Trunks' timeline too, they were the ones who attacked that first city as a test and destroyed it before any of Goku's group could get there (which is why they were never seen, after all why would Goku and such go there when there are no power levels to tip them off). After this 19 and 20 go back to Gero's lab and he begins to work on 17 and 18. Due to his inability to control them Gero decides to try to make them more controllable by weakening 17 and 18 and eventually dismantles 16 after deciding that he is not necessary. However when 17 and 18 are awakened they still refuse to obey and kill Gero and 19 with ease even though they are weaker now (because even though they are weaker than in the normal timeline, they're still stronger than Gero and 19). The weakened 17 and 18 then go on their world-wide rampage and kill everyone who have not had a warning and therefore did not train and become strong enough to challenge them.
In the normal timeline, when Trunks warns everyone about the androids he is only aware of 17 and 18 as they are the only androids that were ever seen by the fighters in his timeline. His warning pushes them to train and become stronger and most importantly, to be at the city when it gets attacked by 19 and 20. Being pursued by the fighters pushed Gero to awaken 17 and 18 before he had weakened them and doesn't give him time to dismantle 16. Basically he got rushed by the good guys knowing where to show up to stop him and didn't have enough time to prepare as a result (though his preparations would ultimately fail anyway).
So did young me waste his time developing that headcanon or is your post also just a theory?
Goku Black might actually be a way for Vegeta to beat "Goku" without actually beating him, thus maintaining the status quo.

Realistically, Vegeta and Goku wouldn't need to fuse. The two of them working together would be enough.
But we know that Goku gets a severe case of DOMS after the recent tornament and can't use instant transmission, while Vegeta is out on some far away planet to collect Goten and Trunks. They'll be split up soon and can't fuse OR fight together.

That said it's really not necessary. Vegeta was able to achieve SSGSS without holding hands (which honestly kind of shit all over the entire arc where they introduced this new ritual of legend when the ritual isn't actually necessary) so in theory there's no real reason Trunks couldn't have also done this.
That said, I'm hoping that he hasn't attained that level yet as it would need some serious explaining as to how he even found out about it, let alone how he did it without even witnessing the ritual. I would prefer him to be something else, like a really strong SSJ3 or something.
The only real problem with that is explaining how he survived Black Goku while also having Black Goku be a credible threat. If this villain is supposed to be strong enough to give Goku and Vegeta trouble he would have destroyed anyone weaker than SSB level instantly.
But whatever, they'll write it how they write it I suppose. Having it simply be "Alternate timeline Beerus heard about the prophesy and came to earth, then he somehow ended up training Trunks to be strong enough to fight him and that's how Trunks became SSB" wouldn't be impossible to believe. Hard to believe considering how aggressive and impatient Beerus was before fighting Goku but not impossible if Whis intervened or something.

Characters fighting together and using numbers to overwhelm the opponent never happens in Dragonball, even when they do have a numbers advantage they all attack one at a time for some reason or all try to attack at once, do a short flurry of ineffective attacks then split up and fight the opponent one at a time.
There has never been a single Dragonball fight that was won because multiple characters fought in tandem to defeat a single opponent, the closest to it was when Gohan and Krillen gave Goku an assist to beat Vegeta.
