I don't think the spin was terrible, it was a good throwback to hamon but at least it actually was REALLY executed well, and it was interesting because of all the golden rectangle bullshit. It's still great to me how Gyro managed to make it through all the stand fights without a punchghost, just with a steelball and his trade skill.
You also have fights like True Man's World, which was fucking amazing.
Speaking of though, why does no one talk about Civil War? I thought AXL Ro was a Ringo-tier villain, he had a cool design and his stand ability was fucking creative and linked really well with his backstory. You also got to see one of Johnny's most badass moments of development in it too.

We as the readers know that the story is drawing to a close now, so when a stand user shows up and fucks with gyro we just want it to be over with so that we can continue reading the climax. We are aware of how araki handles stand battles so we expect maybe 5-6 chapters.
The stand users often dump exposition before they get defeated, it's one of araki's ways to get you to empathise or give them deeper motivations.
Araki is well aware of all these cliches he have. chocolate D.I.S.C.O is a joke on the reader before the final fight begins. D.I.S.C.O only says his stands name, clarifies that he haven't anything else to say and then immedialty gets jobber by a gyro that is tired of this shit.
It's araki's way of saying "ok this stand of the week stuff is over now, the real battle begins now"
please refute my argument for why D.I.S.C.O is a perfectly fine chapter and "fight" now you fuckers

His character is really hard to explain if you don't relate to him. It's like he puts on an act and doesn't show his true feelings about what's going on. This world has carved him into a man but inside has the feelings many feelings. That's just how I feel about it its just how you interpret it I guess.
