It's a standard trope in murder mystery series. No one looks at the most obvious suspects no matter how many people die around them.

Think about it... 800 or so cases even if it was just one homicide a day, which would be disturbing enough he would have grown at least two years.
I always assumed it was one murder a week just to be on the safe. Still a lot though but it would give him more than enough time to reach adulthood and just stop looking for the men in black.
Or what? it's 10 murders a day totally disregarding the time trips take or the night and day cycles altogether?
