The game does indeed make more money but that's because the video game market is that much larger than the anime industry. But the fact that the movies alone (no idea how much influence the tv series have) made nearly a billion US dollars on their own shows there is incredible worth in the Pokemon anime industry. The anime isn't trying to "distance itself from the games" though. You'll certainly see a new season starting by the time they actually release Sun & Moon. Things like distributing promo Pokemon and such that are a large part of the franchise at least in Japan require that the franchise stay in synch.
I guess Zygarde getting some attention in the next game would be kind of odd, but there's nothing strange about the new Greninja form at all. Heck, it even was shown in that old painting in the ninja-village that it's not some Ash-specific form, just a legendary form.
The Ash-Greninja name doesn't necessarily mean anything. Remember that Mega Mewtwo Y was originally "Mewtwo Awakening form" in the anime before they actually revealed Mega Evolution and even after that Mega Mewtwo X.

Except all Pokémon of the same species are not as powerful, especially not in the anime. In pretty much all cases where the Elite Four or Champions have appeared, they've shown to be practically unbeatable because their Pokémon are on a completely different level from normal Pokémon.
So yes, the Pokémon shown in that scene are both "more special than anyone else" because they're Pokémon trained by elite trainers and would more likely than not curbstomp any normal Pokémon who challenged them.

And it's actually shown quite often that some Pokémon have a natural affinity for battling better than others of the same species. Ash's Greninja is one of those cases, since as a Froakie it always took its training seriously while others of its kind were much more lax about it. The fact that she's the Champion and that Gardevoir is her ace is more than enough to believe that it's an exceptional battler. Sure, she's evidently had it for many years (pic related) and trained it for very long, but there's nothing that says it's a normal Pokémon by any means.
I find it amazing that what started off as a discussion about the most recent Pokemon episode has turned into whatever this thread has turned into, with 68 unique posters, and we barely reached the halfway mark yet. Most other threads for anime airing this season wishes they had these unique posters numbers.

I think it's one of those 'agree to disagree' moments, because I am a firm believer that most of the pokemons start off as normal and they simply become game-breaking by simply training and battling a lot. It works with the whole 'hard work pays off' aspect they've got going on. Her Gardevoir is just your normal variety Pokemon that she raised to greatness.

Yes, Ash is obviously a firm believer of that school, but it's been shown before that the opposite can be true as well. In DP, Paul caught several Pokémon of the same species and released all but the one best battler, much to Ash's frustration. Part of what made Paul a great rival was that he was the polar opposite to Ash and almost always won against him with methods that completely conflicted with his own.
