It's about damn time. I will be mad if this movie is not DTB. They need something to celebrate the 10th anniversary and a movie is more cost-efficient than a TV series.

S1 was amazing imo. legit one of the best scifi/fantasy/superhero worlds out there. every character was really fleshed out, and I felt that Hei's actions and motivations were always human, and not something written by a screenwriter somewhere. the finale is a little dumb, but overall it's a ton of fun in a great world.

DTB follows a bi-episodic format where small self-contained stories are told in two episodes while revealing information about the settings, characters, and overarching plot and then it all comes together in the last 3 episodes for the finale. Its unique structure is one of the great things about it.

I think it's mainly that people think what they were taught in middle-school is the literal definition of good writing and that if they hide behind that no one can attack their opinions. Same reason they love to throw around "X is objectively bad because it doesn't obey the law show don't tell closely enough" constantly.

and Toonami devs said Space Dandy was likely to come back as an OVA or movie in the future.
and I can't find a source but I'm sure the Dandy director said he wanted to do a movie in some event, I think the Hooters one.

They released one of their biggest hits of all time, Kekkai Sensen, just one year ago, and SB69 which sold well too. The Space Dandy BD-BOX re-release also sold multiple times better than the original blu-ray release did. They're in a better position right now than they've been in a long time.
