When I first played 2-3 8 years ago, I could already feel like there was something off about the case. I didn't particularly care about the fate of any of the characters since they were all irredeemable assholes, the case itself was draggy as hell and villain's motivations were extremely stupid, mind you, this was before I found out what other people thought of the case. 2-3 really was the worst case in the series, at least I gave a shit about Lamiroir in 4-3.

I don't know specifically about looks, but I did like it more than the previous ones. Perhaps because the previous 2 cases weren't very interesting. Maya helps a lot, her cuteness comes forth much better in animated form, and it was interesting to see the Steel Samurai animated as well.
