A character being internally consistent doesn't automatically make it good.

This is a story. When you create tension, you also need to resolve it in some way. If characters act like a dick, they need to get their comeuppance. If characters are wrong, they need to be corrected. If characters make a mistake, that mistake should come back to bite them in the ass.

Yes, her acting like a spoiled bitch and being annoying and insufferable and causing strife just by being pointlessly obtuse is very realistic. It's also incredibly annoying to watch, and the tension and conflict created by her stupid behavior feels like pointless drama.

And yes, I'm aware that there are perfectly good stories where bad guys win, wrong people get to keep their wrong convictions and arrogant people are never raped in the nostrils, but those stories are structured differently. You can't pour "realism" in any story and expect it to work.

She strives to save the humans. She never needed to. She strives to save the people who actively shunned her (and tried to *kill* her). She never needed to. She offered to stay in a makeshift prison, when she could have punched the holes with her bare hands. She never needed to.

Even when she breaks her promise, it's only to kill a Kabane and to ultimately save more humans.

Yawn. This latest episode was boring as fuck. Not like the one before was very entertaining either. Whoever directed this is an idiot. There's no tension, no pacing, the attempt at world-building is a snoozefest, the shit is absolutely inconsistent (why does the stone hurt Mumei and not our MC?) and the issue of "WE CAN'T TRUST THEM" is getting boring already.
