Thunderbolt is a real fucking weird thing. No way this will be popular with the mainstream and have them be interested in other Gundam. The manga is great but westerners don´t read, and nips that do read Thunderbolt, already have bought the volumes. Gunpla won´t even make too much bucks when it features just one Gundam and a Zaku. And after watching it, I almost feel like they made it because they love making anime, which is really weird after several years of shit.

The 1/144 HGs (Zaku I, Zaku II, GM, Gundam) are getting a second release under the guise of "anime colors" versions, and the Gundam and Zaku II are both getting 1/100 MGs.
The original HGs couldn't have sold all that bad if they're clogging up the release list with minor recolors. If they did, they'd be P-Bandai limited releases.

Yes. Some people say that it goes to shit after the OYW arc, but I still like it despite the radical change in setting. Aquatic/Marine battles haven't been explored too much in Gundam outside of a few scenes.
I prefer the manga's version of the Full Armor vs 3 Snipers fight that is covered in episode 2. Io isn't as sadistic as he is in the anime, but it's a much more tense hit and run affair with him using decoys and stealth to close the gap with the snipers. You get more of a sense that it stresses him out as much as it does for the snipers, but he feeds off of that kind of stress since he's an adrenaline junkie

It's an advertisement for the manga series to nips that haven't read the manga. They onyl adapted a small part of the series. It's literally a "Go read the manga" type of thing. It was also a fairly popular gundam manga which means they can profit off of BD sales and the OVAs will create a renewed interest in the gunpla line.

The gunpla line has 3 (4 if you count the non-big gun version) zaku. There is also a MG FA gundam scheduled for July release and a MG Psycho Zaku scheduled for later this year.

It's a serious contender of AOTS. Jojo is there too because I know the story and DP is doing a solid job.
Everything else is cool, but this 1 hour animation really stands out and is able to tell in that much time what a lot of shows in 12 episodes can't even properly say.

I don't know how it goes down in the anime, but in the manga he is basically forced to retreat after the lightning warped his shot and the gundam got too close. He almost gets one shot by the gundams beam saber after falling for the gundams decoy and has to throw a flash grenade and run away.

But that's kinda how Gundam usually is and how fictional story telling is in general. Always gotta have cases where you're about to kill someone, and in any realistic situation you'd 100% follow through even if interrupted yet they just stop moving like playing freeze tag. At least with the thunderbolt saves it makes sense regardless of how low chance it is.
But look at the shit like the ending when Io and Daryl trade blows and it ends with them in a draw. That makes no sense at all. How the fuck can such high tech suits fail to move the moment they lose their head camera? I don't think even original MSG had that flaw since there was a back up cam. And to begin with if you're an ace pilot how the fuck do you freak out so hard you can't even shoot right in front of you, blind or not? And let's not even get into how Io fucking aimed for the head instead of the cockpit he wasn't exactly just waking up like Daryl was.
Point being, I don't think anyone should take Thunderbolt results seriously. It's just more dakka, more fluid action, a lot more people dying and that's what it's great at.
