Maybe this isnt the right place to ask, and I apologize if i word this badly. But
I've been noticing this trend in anime since maybe 2009? But if they have effects or lightning or something fast paced in the scene. Everything will turn slightly darker on the screen.
If there is blue lightning, the white in the lightning will turn gray-ish. Everything dulls.
Why is that? Is it a problem with overlaying the effect over the sheet? Or something to stop kids from having seizures ?
I dont know if its noticeable in this picture but you can see how dull and washed out the picture is compared to the text
