For one, I'm willing to put money down no media you consume actually is high enough quality to make a difference. Secondly I doubt you have a decent enough sound card in whatever brand name toaster you're using to actually output the higher quality audio, and third, even with all those requirements met, I doubt you'd be distinguish a 20 dollar headset from a 500 dollar one if the treble and bass are properly balanced.

They changed the build quality on PortaPros for the worse a while back. The ones I bought around 7 or 8 years ago only lasted about a year before I had to replace the jack. Which is a shame because PortaPros were damn good headphones, but at this point you may as well just buy a couple KSC75's every year.

My portapros bought 5 years ago died after about 2 years of use. It was just a loose wire and I'm sure it would have been an easy fix. I probably still have it, should try to fix it now that I have a soldering station.
