Just finished watching this.

Why the fuck do people like it? This is literally Autism: The Series.
>>
>>140678700
It was too much drama for me, but overall it was a comfy watch.
The OST is top notch, and I liked the art
>>
The colors are fucking nice, reminds me of summer. Thanks OP, I'm gonna go rewatch this now.
>>
>>140678700
Should i watch this?
>>
It was about a girl that wanted to do something meaning full in her life before she died, it a real tear jerker at the end
>>
>>140679128
Did she really help Kousei though? I didn't feel like he had resolved his issues by the end of the show.
>>
>>140678790
I can agree that the show was well-made but I absolutely hated Kousei.

>>140679108
If you want a fuckload of monologues and melodrama, yes.

How is it autistic? Its a drama, thats all it is.

And it was pretty good too
>>
Maybe it wasn't THAT bad, but I hated how forced the drama was, it was way too rhetorical.
Also, sometimes it feels like they're spoonfeeding you, they talk too much and some scenes had childish direction.
Nice music though.
>>
>>140679218
Well, it's quite open as an ending iirc, to me it felt pretty tragic

Not him btw
>>
>>140679218
He is quite a tragic character in that sense: having loved, lost and let go of two people by the end of the show. But perhaps the fact that he has learned to move on from such losses means that he has learned to accept his fate and develop as a person.
>>
I just finished watching it. It's a literal 9/10, though the ending didn't really get me like it got others because it was really predictable.
>>
>>140678700
People like it because "it make meh cry evrytime, so it gud"
>>
>>140679218
>learned to deal with loss better
>could play the piano again
>came to terms with his mother being such a shitty person
>new childhood tomboy friend route opened

Could be worse
>>
>>140679473
It was a show about a bunch of teens forced to perform in high pressure environments.

You legit can't get more natural drama than that.
I'm sorry they weren't as stoic as you living your mediocre life with no goals or challenges
>>
>>140678700
>Why the fuck do people like it?

TEH FEELS
>>
>>140680298

Drugs, sex and rock n' roll sequel when?
>>
>>140679473
>forced drama
So we have a character who is dying at 15 or some shit, another who is an orphan at 15 and grew up hating his only parent while he wasn't because she beat him whenever he didn't play the piano well enough, spoiler alert: it was always, and the third one who grew up watching it but couldn't do anything to help.

And it's forced that they have emotions about these things?
>>
>>140678700
>Why the fuck do people like it?
easy entry level stuff, uncomplicated stories overshadowed by melodrama and a dying character which makes it seem good
>This is literally Autism: The Series.
I don't think there was much autism in this desu

At least they used a lot of Chopin's pieces so there's that
>>
>>140680445
The best part is that I DO have goals and challenges and guess what, I am a classical musician and, although I am not, I play with "gifted" musicians on a daily basis so I tend to self insert on this kind of shit.
I found the premise good, albeit not original at all, it's just that the show was too rethorical and felt forced.
>>
>>140680883
The drama itself made sense, but anon mentioned childish direction and that's absolutely true for how they 'forced' you to feel the drama. They'd load up a performance with a bunch of flashbacks and internal monologues to drill in literally any vaguely meaningful dialogue and manipulate you into feeling something, when usually you should be inspired to feel it through the build up and more subtle moments during the performance.
>>
>>140680883
It's not the emotions that are forced, it's the way the anime shows them.
It just doesn't feel natural.
>>
>>140681174
>>140681282
That is entirely a matter of opinion and yours are wrong
>>
>>140681358
Ok.
>>
>>140681358
No, that's a reasonable and observant criticism which you should be able to refute if it was wrong, either by showing that the directing wasn't full of flashbacks etc, or that it isn't an emotionally manipulative way to do things.
>>
This show is a perfect example of how not to try going about fixing a traumatised person. That blonde cunt deserved to die.
>>
>>140678700

This series really hit my feels on a lot of levels. The entire cast was pretty sympathetic, and I was really happy with the aesthetics - visual design, soundtrack, colouring, everything was nice. I just felt like the last episode was pretty mediocre after so much buildup. Too much visual metaphor. I liked best the times when he's play and the little globes of light would appear, or when they just showed people playing in general. That did a far better job of conveying emotion than reflective lakes and tress and shit, which frankly were just melodrama and unneeded. That performance with MC and the blonde dude's kid sister was pretty fantastic, for example. If they'd been that bit less ambitious and tried a little less to make the audience feel, the strength of the characters would have shone through more naturally and the show would have been far better.

The worst part is that I'm a mediocre violinist.

>Why the fuck do people like it?
Muh feels ;_; 10/10 I cried so it's an eternal masterpiece
>>
>>140681631
No it's entirely opinionated because things like flashbacks aren't inherently bad
>>
Am I the only one who got more feels from the 2 rivals than I did with the blonde chick's stuff?
>>
>>140681104
Looks like someone just had their feelings hurt.
>>
Some people like this kind of 'feels porn'
>>
Hate this show, mc is a little bitch and classical music is trash
>>
>>140680445
That's what it was about? Funny, I thought it was about PTSD, a dying girl, and shitty melodrama.
>>
>>140682289
Of course they aren't, the point is that they're used excessively and the memories aren't always all that poignant or significant. It feels like every second interaction they had got a flashback moment. It ruined the flow of some performances and is a cheap way to make it seem more meaningful than it is.
