Why is K-On so enduringly popular?
There hasn't been any new anime content since 2011 but people still go nuts for it.

>but people still go nuts for it.
Do they?

I do.
Because it's objectively good, especially for it's genre.

Because it's far and away superior to any SOL since except NNB.
>Author had to change his pen name because KyoAni over-embellished his work

Lots of shitposting material and Mio

Because it's family friendly as fuck? It has wide appeal.
Because it's good.
People really like it, it was really popular, and it's multi-media.

Like >>140625114 said it was loved by Normalfags and Otaku alike. The fanservice is minimal but the girls were cute and the comedy was lighthearted that along with a story didn't stayed in an eternal highschool limbo but moved the characters nto adulthood without losing the lighthearted tone of the show.

In Japan the very least people still care. The show was rebrocasted on Disney Channel a few years ago and TBS had a 24 hours marathon this year along with comments from the seiyu and the original production staff and a twitter contest to win original posters.
It's the pinnacle of human achievement
Its the anime equivalent of the Mona Lisa.
It's soft and squishy and does the same to your brain.
I dropped it after about 5 minutes.
I want to come with the K-Ons.

Because you grow attached to the characters. K-on is the kind of show that you love after a few episodes specially if you marathon it. Instead it slowly makes his way into your heart.
K-on is the proof that you don't always need a complex story or drama. To make a show memorable.
