I've been rewatching original Dragon Ball and it's jarring how quality rises and falls, often on on an episode-to-episode basis. But man, there's so much shit in there, especially in the first third of the show. Writing and dialogue wise, it's no better than Super on average. The problem with Super is it doesn't really have great standout moments. Those were stolen by the last two films and it's only now that we get them. It's an improvement. Super may yet become a solid 5/10, just like the original Dragon Ball which also started very weak.

Skip: You "dissapear" from the flow of time and appear some amount of time later. Time as a whole is unnafected, just your position in space. This is what Hit does.

Stop: Time stops flowing for what the character using the ability is a certain amount of time(the time his body, spirit, ki or whatever can hold it) and he can do whatever he or she wants in that time. This is what Dio and Guldo do.
