LN had Suzy forcing Theo to execute Lise or she'd kill him on suspicion of being a traitorous spy. Gretel doesn't like this at all, so her and Suzy get in a big fight where she threatens to torture Gretel for being a loyalist sympathizer. Annete just sits in a corner rocking herself because she's still traumatized from seeing Farka's remains. Meanwhile, Katia learns of all this and rushes off to fix this shitshow. She shows up too late however, and Theo has just finished executing Lise. She breaks down sobbing and Theo feels like even more of a shitbag.

Lise was the least evil, everything she did she did to protect her brother. This includes fighting against him as a Werewolf. If she had won, she could have protected him. First one to field a intermediate cartridge in large scale
>inb4 muh 7.62x39 aint intermediate
Yet it is.
First one to field a IFV that swims in large scale.
Built the largest nuke in the world.
First one to rape germans in large scale and cuck them for the post cold war era.
Experts in deporting and sending people to the far east and gulags.
Supports marxist groups around the world in very big scale and laid roots that still exist in the western world.
Iris, Beatrix, Jurgen and the baby are over at your place, huddling around Lise at the kitchen table. Well, Iris, Beatrix and Jurgen are huddled around Lise. You're sitting on couch keeping the baby occupied.
"So you're saying that we're actually making a fair bit of money?"
"Yeah, we have a couple videos with over 100,000 views, so the ad revenue is trickling in."
"Why haven't I seen any of it?"
"Iris, you weren't in any of the videos. You were the one who only wanted to do a still photoshoot, there's a lot less revenue in those."
Jurgen interrupts, "So, anyway, tell us about what you just bought."
Lise has some electronics sitting in front of her, which she has set up in some sort of way you don't really understand. Every time someone goes in to touch one of the things she has, she swats away their hands.
"Well, I picked up a couple GoPro Hero2 cameras. used off of ebay"
"What do you need two for?"
"3D recording."
Lise picks up the cameras and mounts them on a special bracket.
"There's a lot of people starting to make VR headsets, and people are going to start using smartphones to do that kind of thing, too. Once we get this stuff configured, we'll be able to make 3d recordings of out cosplay that people can pay to watch."
"Why?" Irisdina isn't sure how she feels about this.
"I don't know. People like breasts."
"No, I mean why are we doing this?"
"So we can meet the writers of the Muv-Luv series again."
Iris looks at Lise, quizzically. She was never really on board with the idea that the world they came from might bear more than coincidental resemblance to the world depicted in that series. She looks like she's about to say something, when Lise cuts her off.
"I need to find out what happened to my brother."

Both of these are more matters of performance and necessity than they are of any sort of technical, economic, or scientific competence.
>Built the largest nuke in the world.
Call me back when you can deliver it on target.
In any case, the B41 had a far better yield-to-weight ratio (5.2 kt/kg vs 3.7 kt/kg) and managed that with a quarter of the yield - which makes it better, because everything with nukes gets easier if you're willing to throw enough mass at the problem.
>First one to rape germans in large scale and cuck them for the post cold war era.
If you're willing to throw enough bodies at it, you can solve any problem.
>Supports marxist groups around the world in very big scale and laid roots that still exist in the western world

I'm saying that multiple countries in the free world developed better lighter, heavier, and much heavier cartridges, rapid fire automatic weapons, and so forth, or built better armored vehicles, APCs/IVFs, and amphibious combat vehicles. The fact that they didn't build those specific niche things first is because there was no need for them.
Also, if 7.62 counts as an intermediate cartridge, then your forgetting about the 7.92×33mm Kurz, which wasn't produced in the same quantity as dirt but has it beat by a solid five years.
>>140597589
Not if the missile can't reach outside your own territory with the thing on it. Overall, it was an inefficient, wasteful weapon that severed no practical purpose other than dick-waving; the fact that you need a higher yield is simply demonstrating that your missiles aren't as good.

But we were talking about who did what first now did we (and some other strange shit)?
>free world developed better
Of course they are gona do that, otherwise they are gona lose to the commies. The question is how long it would take for them to do so.
The Soviets fielded 3 different tanks in the time the murricans were stuck with the M-60 after the MBT70 failure. Soviets fielded the BMP-1 when the burgers were stuck with the m113. A vehicle which they considerd to be superior over their own. You can talk about oh how they built better vehicles then the soviets did in the 60's but that is not that much of a good thing when the soviets are already fielding the next generations of AFV's.
For everyone else in NATO then the situation is not looking good.
>Also, if 7.62 counts as an intermediate cartridge
Well it does and the very first intermediate cartridge is the jap 6.5 which was used in the federov automat. (which was before the commies and was probably less scale then the 7.62 kurz)
Hence why I said large scale.

Oddly enough, Lise had never actually told Iris about the reason why she was taking her cosplay habit so seriously. Iris knew she was into it, like, really into it, and had even travelled to Japan once before with Beatrix in order to cosplay at an event for the franchise, but she never knew what Lise's endgame was. In fact, she never even realized Lise had an endgame.
"I... I thought you just did this because you like the attention."
"Ha! No. This is way too much work for that kind of thing. In any case, I'm not stupid. I'm taking a huge risk having any sort of online presence, just like you are. I'm not going to be my own IM informer just for fun."
"Work?"
"There's the photo shoots, of course, and thinking up ways to recycle the same old content, Me looking pretty in my standard issue uniform, gets pretty hard pretty quickly. Of course, I can't just let everybody start posing with me, since I need to make sure I'm the one getting the plane tickets."
She holds up her hand, pointing to various fingers as she covers basic aspects of her business model.
"Also, I needed to learn how to do the photography aspect of it, not to mention the post processing. It doesn't matter if I'm the hottest Lise Hohenstein cosplayer in the world, which I obviously am, if all my pictures look like dogshit."
"You sound pretty full of yourself right now."
"I'm not wrong, though. Anyway, most importantly, I needed to learn Japanese, so that I could actually communicate in the language of my target audience. Finally, I needed to actually learn how to promote myself so that people would notice me. Which sites to post on, which trolls to antagonize, all that bullshit."
"You've... you've put a heck of a lot of thought into this."
"Of course I have!" Lise seems to be getting frustrated that Iris still doesn't get it. "If only dead people can cross over, I need to know he's dead. If he's not dead, he can't cross over. You already got your brother back. I want mine, too."

>>140599531
I've considered that. Honestly, the biggest issue Lise is running into is the fact that for the time being, I think that her trying to get Theo to cross over is far more interesting than actualy letting her succeed. Also, it will probably close a lot of doors and I'll have to write about Theo for like 20-30 pages which I am pretty much not interested in doing right now.So Lise's main problem is that the Mattress Gods enjoy playing with her.
It would be interesting if she got the Theo that was shot by Gretel or eaten by a Grappler after murdering Katia

>ベアトリクスについて。ベアトリクスは連載中の「隻影のベルンハルト」のメインヒロイン(!)なので詳しくは語れないのですが、彼女の目指した理想もひとつの筋の通った回答だと思います――正しいかどうかは別として。
About Beatrix. Beatrix is the main heroine of Bernhard in the Shadows. Because of this, I won't say much, but [I will say] that the ideals she aimed for were not wrong -- she was correct, as were the others (he'd been talking about Iris and Katia before hand).
>ベアトリクスは『隻影のベルンハルト』を読むとある意味、悲劇のヒロインに思えてきちゃいます。もしユルゲンが生きてたらと思うと…

"Brother! Big brother!!"
She calls for Theo over and over, voice echoing through the snowy woods, but the boy is nowhere to be found. Keeping above the snow proves difficult for the tiny girl as every step plunges her deeper into a seemingly never ending icy hole. A sledding trip turns unexpectedly south when the toboggan she shared with him sped down the snowy slope a little faster than expected veering dangerously off course, knocking the taller Theo off with a heavy tree branch to the face and carrying Lise way past the supervised area of the resort. Clinging to the runaway sled for dear life ended with her projectile hurdled into a snow bank, forming a neat imouto shaped hole in the otherwise undisturbed frost.
Too afraid to move as every shift in the ice sinks her lower past the surface and voice raw from crying out, she curls up in the fetal position and hopes the snow may be merciful and freeze her into a little blonde popsicle before a bear comes along for dinner. On cue with her fears she hears the shuffling feet of a large animal coming nearer. Stuck in a hole, cold, and assuredly soon to be eaten, Lise wonders what the corpse will look like if ever found. She hoped Theo wouldn't be the first.
The beast approaches ever nearer, and now she can hear it just beyond sight. A shadow casts down into her frosty prison and an unexpected familiar voice, sweeter sounding at that moment than any angel she could imagine, starts to call out to her before bursting in an uncomfortably accusatory fit of laughter. She sees her older brother up there, unable to form words in his mouth without cracking up. The sight of her seven feet deep and covered head to toe in white powder made her look like a little baby seal stuck in a poorly made igloo. The big watery eyes that start to well up when she realizes she's being laughed at only serve to enhance the pristine image. He silently thanks God for such a sight, only wishing he had the means to take a picture.

Cute, but snow and ice aren't the same thing, and when I read it I had trouble telling if she had broken through a pond or something.
Also tree wells can be nearly as deadly as avalanches. the year I worked at a ski hill we had one dead guy in a tree well under the chairlift, versus 3 dead guys just outside the robe in a back country avalanche. He fell in head first, couldn't get out and suffocated.

Now if we really want to get technical here, the snow would be powder when she crashes into it, and packed when she moves around, causing it to settle. Crud is also a good term for heavy, wet snow that is especially difficult to fight through.
When the show settles, it becomes much denser and eventually, such as after an avalanche, can become as hard as cement after it stops moving. Not an issue for Lise in this case of course, she just would have to worry about hypothermia and suffocation if she fell in head first and couldn't get out.
I know I'm taking this way too seriously, but I don't get to share what I know about falling in snow very often so I have to jump on it when I do.

A few days later, Inghild is sitting at the kitchen table with her baby, sharing a pot of coffee with Lise. Marco is making pretty decent money, so Inghild is able to go to school part time and spend the rest of the time with her daughter. It would be a bit lonely and boring, except that most of her friends work fairly irregular work schedules, so she usually has someone to chat with on any given day. It means she's also become something of a gossip, but she's a sweet girl who never has a bad thing to say about anyone, so it's not like anyone minds. She just always seems to know what everybody else is up to at any given time. Lise stops her mid conversation - apparently Farka has a second job interview today - and gets up out of her seat, standing behind Inghild.
"Don't mind me, I just want to see something."
Inghild seems a little bit confused, until Lise unties the ribbons holding her hair in twintails. Lise combs out the hair with her fingers, before using one of the while ribbons to tie Inghild's hair back into a ponytail. Inghild is now very confused.
"Lise, what are you doing?"
"Ehehe... just brain storming."
She pulls an old rain drop jacket off the peg, and drapes it over Inghild's shoulders, before stepping back, and gazing at the girl through a frame mede by her thumbs and forefingers. She's talking to herself.
"Well, her bust is a little on the large side, but that's not really a bad thing. Her hair and eye color are pretty well spot on, though..."
Inghild looks up at the girl staring at her
"What are you talking about?"
"Inghild, how would you like to pose for some pictures this weekend?"

The guy under the chair was a snowboarder who fell in a tree well. His legs were pinned to the same board, so he was stuck upside down and couldn't even wriggle himself upright. Sometimes, people can right themselves inside the tree well, but the can't climb out because the snow around them is too soft, kind of like what Lise seems to have been experiencing in the story. Often however, they'll just suffocate. It's an especially bad problem in the PNW because of the volume of heavy, wet snow we get.
If you like reading long-ass stories, here's one about the three guys who died in the avalanche. That was not a fun day to be at work.

It really is crazy if you think about it. This cute little blonde girl is actually a Stasi-trained spy and is plotting out her entire cosplay career in order to influence the direction of a well-known Japanese light novel.
Also, there is one thing missing from this entire thing: Lise asking anon what he thinks about this entire plan. I mean, it's not like he would object to it (the quite opposite, he'd totally support it if it helps Lise and makes her happy). But given the current state of their relationship, they should be at the level where they talk about these things.

"I...You...What?"
It's the evening after you took some pictures of Inghild and Lise posing and looking the part of a pair of adorable imoutos. Apparently, Inghild is just now starting to realize that Lise intended to have her pretend to be another member of the 666th, one that she had never met before.
"Why can't I just be me? Am I not good enough?"
Inghild looks hurt, but Lise pats the girl's head and tries to reassure her, "No, no. You're too good. This way, you don't have to use your real name when you're posing."
"Everyone else uses their real name..."
"Yeah, but that's not necessarily a good thing. We're just lucky we've all been given alternate identities, otherwise we wouldn't be doing this sort of thing. This way, your identity is more secure. You're safer."
"You mean this isn't safe?"
Lise laughs nervously "No, no, it's perfectly safe. I think. You didn't get rid of your PM, right?"
Inghild shakes her head.
"Ok, good. You're perfectly safe."
"But I still don't like pretending to be someone else."
"You aren't pretending to be someone else. Katia Waldheim never existed, remember? It's just a made-up name. Inghild Bronikowski can be Katia Waldheim just as truthfully as Ursula Strachwitz can be Katia Waldheim, right?"
"I guess..."
Lise leans in close. It's clear that while she does care about the young mother's feelings, she's also falling back on her training to make absolutely sure Inghild knows she cares.
"Inghild~ It's not about what you want, or I want, it's about what those horrible fans of ours want. We'll give them what they want, and we'll get plane tickets, and then we'll get to see Theo again. Maybe Annett, too."
It's clear that Inghild isn't totally sold on how this plan is going to work, or if it's going to work at all, but she would like to see Annett and Theo again, so after thinking about it for a moment, she nods, and a shy smile begins to spread across her face, starting with her eyes.

Also, Murricans made the first mecha that would become TSFs (the Lunar walker, originally for lifting and building shit on the Moon). It's not like they're super duper speshul, despite the image the ML media puts on otherwise.
They basically replaced fighter jets because of things like the Laser class appearing. They're actually a step down from what humanity had before, in terms of battlefield coverage. The idea is to try to retain as much mobility as possible that fighter planes had allowed. TSFs are however, just one part of combined arms.

And the rest of the combined teams are just straight up horrible. Not a single bit being optimised, designed or used as if they were fighting the BETA when you dont count the artillery firing special anti laser smoke.
So if anyone here is because they think they are gona watch danke combined arms warfare and humanity going cold war wild in designs then no. Just no. There is nothing here to enjoy except the girls, human drama, suffering, epic moments and feels.

Theo doesn't like Anette in PTSD mode, because deny it as he might, he's just as broken as she is.
>>140613442
Well for the most part - real jets in the fighter role didn't have that many ground attack weapons, and things like bombs and munitions need to be too high to be dropped, hence useless for anything less than strategic and tactical bombers.
SEAD has very little application, if not useage, as humans are mostly fighting a radarless, SAM site less enemy. That's why they call the similar tactic against BETA Laserjagd. They're the only ones with the mobility to get fast enough through BETA lines to the Lasers while packing enough of a punch to have a chance of blasting their way in or out if they need to.
TSA's fulfill traditional CAS and ground attack roles. They're at least moving in the direction of remembering that combined arms exist and it's not just TSFs. Hell, in the anime, a tank finally did something, and we had like four seconds of A-10, and quite a few of A-6

>bombs and munitions need to be too high to be dropped,
Bombs aint everything and you can still drop em. You just gotta do special tricks. There are 3 things in this picture that in their current form would benfit every single TSF depending on certain things like mission and so
>SEAD has very little application
Laserjagd is SEAD in BETA world, they go out for hunting down laser-class which does the same thing as SAM but on extreme steroids.
>TSA's fulfill traditional CAS and ground attack roles. They're at least moving in the direction of remembering that combined arms exist and it's not just TSFs. Hell, in the anime, a tank finally did something, and we had like four seconds of A-10, and quite a few of A-6
Problem is that not a single element in the rest of the combined arms team are designed for BETA warfare. Most of our real world vehicles post 1973 would not exist due to sudden new threat and change in pretty much everything and even if they still had the same name then they would not be in the same shape and form that they are in the real world. Just like how got giant mechs called F-15's yet they dont look like jets except they have the same name.
The real world T-64BV have no place in the east german army. They never operated it and it exist 2 years before it even got into service and it still have no place in muv-luv because it has no reason to even exist.
Are you guys trying to use logic on SM again? Stop.
It's like the people trying to physics out Index or Bleach.
>>140614272
Well SM (muv-luv as whole) is set in cold war era, there is no real magic. The show uses real world terms, real world military equipment in a semi realistic settings where we got mechs with a rather convenient excuse for why they exist and why we can even build them due to change in world war 2 (nips simply cant handle the nuke so germany got it instead) and change in the space race and material science development speed.
So why should we not use logic? The show is asking for it, dont blaim me.
And what else should we talk about? Waifus? Lise? Sumika? Rebels din du nuffin? "when are they gona release x"?
>>140614555
Mechas are a complete waste of material though. What the shit is wrong with simply using planes, which are more compact, lighter, cheaper and likely to be more maneuverable? Mechas don't even carry all that heavy weaponry.
