I didn't necessarily have anything I strongly disliked about it. It was, overall, pretty solid for me. It just wasn't up to the expectations I had for it, but I suppose that's my fault.
Also, nitpick, but I didn't like some of the direction, particularly the fight scenes and the live action shots.

It's because ever since the increase in westerners watching anime, it would teach what history of Japan was like. If more westerners start to research Japan's history, people will start to bring up Japanese war crimes like Nanking. So, as always, Japan decided to stop historical anime to help reinforce their argument in denial of its war crimes.
