I hadn't watched enough anime to develop a sense of quality when I watched elfen. I could tell that it wasn't great, but I still found it to be emotionally engaging.

Probably Love Hina. But I was still in my "I've got to finish every show I start" phase of anime watching, so I sat through the whole thing. I've hated Yui Horie ever since.

Retrospectively speaking, there's been several series before that one that seemed... off to me. But since I was new to anime, everything just seemed awesome to me, and if it didn't it was some fault of my own.
Green Green TV changed that. It was THE show that made me aware of how much garbage this industry contains.

I watched Magical Warfare back when I was getting into anime. I had really low-tier taste, I was still a garbage eater back then. Even I knew it was bad, I still hate it to this day. A while back I watched the other magic highschool show with the OP onichan character mc. It was pretty bad and it was funny to see someone talking about how they were happy that Madhouse was finally doing a magic highschool show right.
