He once had talent, bit he used it all making Spirited Away. Nothing he made after that was any good. Howl's was shit, Ponyo was shit, Wind Rises was shit. He's well past it now.
Every film he's made that I've seen has been fantastic, so I'd never describe him as talentless. Frankly I don't care about his opinions on anime or whatever, and I don't get why people get so hot and bothered over them. I like his movies and that's all that counts.
