>>140518964I'm a massive faggot who loves to cry at movies/anime because it gives me satisfaction that I've got my money's worth in giving me such an emotional experience. For Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, for instance, I cried:
1) When younger Ed was screaming in pain with a stump leg begging to die if it would save his brother. Seeing a kid in such horrible agony but still care firstly about other people really got me.
2) Mustang lashing out at Ed about what he created, to which Ed can only respond by breaking down. Again, it just seemed really hard for a kid to handle.
3) Nina. Do I really have to explain?
4) Hughes's daughter at the funeral
5) Mustang at the funeral.
6) Winry telling Al about how Ed cried himself to sleep every night for a year because he was scared his brother hated him. (I had literally gone through almost exactly the same fears, and I sometimes still do. It was kinda brutal to see it play out like that.)
7) Izumi hugging the brothers and telling them that they don't have to hold back.
8) Ed overhearing Hughes's daughter telling her mother not to cry.
9) Riza's mental collapse when she hears that Mustang is dead, and realises she's about to die too.
10) Ed blasting open the gates and vowing that he will move heaven and earth to return his brother's soul to his body.
11) Greed finally finding satisfaction in his last act. (I'd gone through a similar revelation shortly before I watched the show, when I realised that my material comfort wasn't making up for my lack of human contact.)
12) Al makes the ultimate sacrifice over his brother screaming to stop.
13) When Winry realises the brother have returned to their real bodies.
14) That last card in a "I'm really glad they all turned out well" kinda way.
I mostly avoid depressing shit because it simply is not beneficial for me.
