Monogatari is better as an LN though. Aside from leading to the creation of some porn and, from Nisio's perspective, lining his pockets with cash, Monogatari doesn't benefit from the anime format at all, monologues which take less than a minute to read in LN format feel like they last forever in the anime even after Shaft shortens them.
Kizu just dropping the monologues altogether may or may not be better, that remains to be seen at the moment since absolutely nothing happens in Part 1.

Bake is still to date the best the SHAFT style has ever looked, and its use was actually pretty well considered and elevated a fairly crappy source into something worthwhile.

Shaft style is trash though, even in Bake even after they fixed all the shit people have forgotten about in the TV run with the BD release. A bunch of still scenery shots with characters occasionally turning their heads in an over-the-top fashion, woah so amazing!
If you also dislike the characters and narrative then Bakemonogatari and the series as a whole has no appeal, outside of it's soundtrack I guess. Outside of Kizu, a few cherry picked scenes from Bake and the Hanekawa OVA the visuals in this series are hot garbage.

Nise was weaker in overall story content, and SS was rushed as all get out. Artstyle/direction also took a turn for the worse after Nise, but at least they're starting to get back into the groove of things after Owari and Koyomi.
Araragi became a manslut for no reason apart from progressing the series. It sure made for a good series, but it felt really out of place.
