I'm not really sure who has the best OP this season, its hard to pick. Bungo Stray Dogs is really cool looking, ConRevo is pretty hype, JoJo's is JoJo, Kiznaiver is cool but its basically Take on Me, Ushio to Tora's is radical, the list goes on and on.
I'm not a fan of Boku no Hero Academia's though, honestly I'm a little disappointed with it.

It's the notes's progression on the scale. Let me explain
"Take on me" chorus's notes are A - G# - A, which are tonic - 7th grade major - one octave high tonic on the A major scale
Kiznaiver opening notes are F - E - F, which are tonic - 7th grade major - one octave high tonic on the F major scale
So while it's not the same notes, it's a similar progression. That's why people get all meme about it.

Agreeing that this season is kinda meh for OP's in general, not that that's terrible. I do think the visuals in BSD are very well done and the singer is the voice of best boy so I'm tempted to throw in my vote for that, but I'm overall pretty ambivalent.

I can't really tell, this season has a lot of strong contender: Kabaneri, Terra Formars Revenge, Ushio to Tora, Concrete Revolutio and Mayoiga.
But I guess Kabaneri topped everything else for me. ryo went full crazy and I like that shit.
