The relationship part, while the rest of the story was moving forward as KyoAni does without yuribait, they just can't do hetroshipping. So everytime her and the guy were together it was always approach, getting there, but couldn't make it. KyoAni must have realized how this held down the story so made the movie where they actually got together and still couldn't get the guy to do it as she had to confess, after the video went dark.
