True, doubt many people care or even remember this series anymore, so its not like there is going to be an influx of readers like there used to be.

Usually if the main heroine is a slut, authors tend to get that out of the way within the first few chapters so the reader knows what they are going into. They don't wait 10 volumes building up a seemingly pure and very likable character, and then ruining it all to hell.
Its like telling someone if they lose 30 lbs, you'll give them $500. Then after months of dieting and they reach the goal, you tell them "Now you save $500 a month on food since you aren't fat anymore, thats my $500 to you".
Its just plain underhanded. Its no wonder the fans made her go into hiding for years.
