Ichigo Kurosaki is a boring fucking character. In the early years of bleach, he had drive, he had initiative, and he had moments of character. All of that is gone now. He has no goals, his only motive is to protect. The most static, reactive motive possible. He has no goal to strive towards, no inner drive, nothing he hopes to achieve. And so all he does is wait for the plot to direct him into another fight.
And even then, as a character good for nothing beyond fighting scenes, he fails. As >>140043433
says, he has one technique. Other shinigami, hollows, and quincy almost all show multiple techniques, but Ichigo only has his Getsuga Tensho. You can probably count the number of times he improvises and changes his fighting patterns throughout the series on one hand. There's no reason to care about him as a character, there's nothing to make his fights interesting. The only times he comes up for discussion nowadays is to argue who he's going to fuck in the end or if he'll become the new soul king. Ichigo is a boring nothing and one of the worst protagonists I've encountered in my life.

Well, there's no hard proof. But its visually implied in the blade is me that Shiro is the larger zangetsu, and the Old Man is the smaller one. Hollows, Shinigami and Quincies all have different Reiatsu, so the other anon's theory that they have different reiatsu isn't far fetched
