I will give you the most unbaiased opinion I can
It's king gainer with a gundam skin,the plot isn't bad but it's not told traditionally,also it's genki tomino so expect wackiness and goofy characters being used to tell serious themes.
Overall it's a decent watch but some people tend to praise it over on /m/ like it's the second coming of 0079 (which it is in some ways) and others shit on it and hate it to high hell just because.
It was apparently supposed to be 50 eps but tomino didn't feel too good (he's getting pretty old after all) so the pacing took a few major hits and the story is more of a "show,don't tell" kinda deal which isn't too easy to do now because of how most anime tend to give information differently so if you don't like that method of story telling you'll probably drop it ,however all the other production values are great, and if you love older anime you'll appreciate the nostalgic atmosphere this show gives off with it's music and animation.
tl;dr the strongest point of this show was it's worldbuilding and atmosphere and at times that alone can carry the show even if the story isn't too good,however if you don't like it within the first 5 episodes it probably won't be for you
